I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner who works from the belief that people are not broken—and that many of the struggles we call “mental illness” make sense when we look at trauma, context, and lived experience. I’m especially attuned to the ways mental health systems, stigma, and labels can unintentionally cause harm, and I aim to practice in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and deeply human.
My approach is unconventional and trauma-informed, influenced by perspectives like those of Gabor Maté, which emphasize compassion, curiosity, and understanding symptoms as meaningful responses rather than defects. I do not believe in rushing to pathologize the human experience. As Joni Mitchell once reflected about depression, sometimes what we’re feeling is not an illness to be fixed, but a signal—an honest response to pain, loss, or a world that has not been kind.
I have been in the mental health field for over twelve years. My experience has allowed me to provide therapeutic services focused on those who have experienced trauma, family issues, lack of identity/purpose, and couples/relationship issues.
My focus is helping clients regain a sense of balance and Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here and exploring your options for counseling support. I have been a counselor since 2004 and work with young adults, adults, and parents. There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to therapy, so I like to work collaboratively with my clients to find a plan that meets their strengths and goals. Some of my passions are helping people understand and regulate their nervous system so they can be more present, engaged, and connected in their lives. I pull from mindfulness and self-compassion based approaches along with yoga, DBT, brainspotting, listening therapies, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I look forward to connecting with you. Do you struggle with persistent anxiety or depression? Do you have an adolescent with emotional or behavioral problems? Are you having issues with addiction? I've been assisting people in the Denver area for the past thirty years. Although my clinical specialties are working with adolescents and addictive issues, I also work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with mood disorders, anger management, men's issues, and spiritual issues.
"I believe that clinical credentials are only part of the process of selecting a therapist. To that end, I offer a free fifteen-minute consultation to determine if I'm the right therapist for you."
