Hello! I'm Amanda Long, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to serving families through compassionate, culturally sensitive mental health care. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and have been practicing as a PMHNP since 2019, with over a decade of nursing experience beginning in 2011. My educational foundation also includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois in Springfield, which broadened my understanding of human behavior and community dynamics. My journey in mental health has taken me through diverse settings that have shaped my comprehensive approach to care. I've worked in psychiatric emergency services at a major hospital, 23-hour crisis stabilization units, outpatient clinics, correctional facilities, and forensic mental health centers, including fitness-to-stand-trial evaluations. This varied experience has equipped me to understand mental health from multiple perspectives and meet people wherever they are in their journey, whether they're facing an acute crisis or seeking ongoing support. I specialize in medication management for individuals across the lifespan—from children and adolescents to adults and older adults. My treatment areas include depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, psychotic disorders, and other mental health concerns. In more than 20 years of practice, I've had the good fortune to walk beside many peoplemoving through difficult times and struggle to a place of relief and the recovery of a sense of identity, integrity, and self worth. For many years, I have specialized in helping men and women struggling with Sex Addiction. More recently my work has led me to help Couple's find each other again and to guide them through a range of relationship and recovery related issues. My experience has allowed me to develop an understanding of how to help with many other problems including grief, depression, and anxiety. My approach is always compassionate but solution focused.

I have been working in the recovery field as a therapist since 2019. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in forensic psychology. I am able to work with dual diagnosis but I specialize in addictive disorders. I have education in the 12 step programs and I work under the idea of emotional sobriety.

My practice is able to see clients for most mental health diagnoses, utilizing most modalities. I specialize in the treatment of addictions and trauma and my experience in these areas is vast. I most enjoy utilizing IFS, EMDR, and AEPD to address these issues. I am EMDRIA certified in EMDR and IFS level I trained.

I provide Psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning, supportive psychotherapy and prescribe Psychiatric medication.
