My style of therapy works best with those who are seeking healing that goes beyond just the symptoms. I want my clients to move toward a fuller life, that does not stop at just managing symptoms and moving on. Therapy can be scary and sometimes difficult, but there is hope! Therapy can also bring fullness and connection into your life. The therapeutic relationship is essential, and it is of primary concern in my work. I dedicate myself to assuring my clients feel safe to do the hard work to heal. If you are unhappy and seeking more from life, I believe I can help.

I specialize in religious trauma and grief, but can also work with a myriad of issues. I offer a safe place to bring your story and the interpersonal and professional skill to help you move through your pain. I focus much of my therapy on meaning-creation, values, and body-centered interventions.

I have spent much of my own time and finances to my own therapeutic work and believe strongly in the process. Our relationship is central and I understand how difficult it can be to open up to pain in the presence of another. You will find me to be empathetic, understanding, and open. Contact me and start your journey of healing and hope.

Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, and finding the right therapist is an important first step. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported as we work through life's challenges together.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State with a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Methodist University and a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. I work with individual adults and certain families who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, sad, lonely, sensitive, anxious, or defeated. If you're feeling heavy by everything going on, or feeling frantic, or having conflict in your relationships or are just feeling lost in any way, I would love to see if I can help! I also work with family units going through transition or strain, such as conflict between a parent and their adult child, or supporting parents who are experiencing difficult things with their child or teen.

I have a lot of experience helping people through loss, whether it's a breakup, losing a job, or a loved one - including loss of a pet, which is a specialty of mine. I have special interest in supporting other therapists, and also community organizers and activists who are engaged in social justice work. Many of my clients are trans or NB, and others are gay, lesbian, or queer. Poly and kink affirming.

I offer telehealth services to clients in California, Idaho, Washington, or Virginia.

I'm glad you're here! I work with clients from young adulthood-late adulthood moving through big shifts: a major life change, the loss of someone or something that mattered, or a relationship that's grown painful or unclear. These life events tend to scramble your footing and stability. Much of what I do is help you shake off limiting beliefs and feelings to regain your footing.

Therapeutic Approach: Reflective · Collaborative · Unhurried. We move at a pace that lets real understanding take hold, and I treat you as the expert on your own life. My job is to think alongside you.

What clients often feel before we start: People usually come to me when they've been managing something for a while and the managing has stopped working.

What drew me to this work: I'm drawn to the idea that healing and growth are already in clients, often blocked by experiences that never got fully processed. A lot of my work uses EMDR, which rests on that same premise: given the right conditions and support, the mind moves toward adaptation and resolution on its own. Before we go anywhere difficult, we build the footing for it with a few reliable tools and a sense that you can stay grounded even when hard material surfaces. Watching someone reach the point where a memory or a pattern finally loosens its grip, is why I enjoy this work.

My biggest strength is discernment and attunement: I listen closely to the patterns under the surface. I'll help you slow things down enough to see what's actually driving the moment. Pacing is part of the work.

Outside the office: My family and time outdoors are what keep me steady and energized. I swim, I read, and I seek out places and people that reset me. That's the same grounding I bring into the room with you.

Find the right therapist for you

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Seattle

Searching for therapists in Seattle starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Seattle has a wide range of therapists across neighborhoods like Capitol Hill, Ballard, Fremont, and West Seattle, with experience supporting concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions. As you compare Seattle therapists, look for listed specialties, therapy approaches, and experience that match what you want help with. A therapist’s bio can show how they describe their style, what they focus on, and what you can expect in sessions.

In a major metro area like Seattle, having many options can make the search harder to narrow. Practical details can help you decide which therapists are usable matches for your schedule and routine. Consider whether you prefer in-person therapy near work, home, or transit, or virtual sessions that reduce commute time. You can also compare appointment availability, whether a therapist is accepting new clients, session format, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. For searches like counseling Seattle, counselors Seattle, or a mental health counselor in Seattle, WA, these details can help you build a clearer shortlist.

Therapy in Seattle can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before you book. Headway helps you find therapists who may accept a wide range of insurance plans, are accepting new clients, and offer virtual or in-person appointments. You can enter your insurance details to confirm what coverage is available for your specific plan in Seattle. You can enter your insurance details, review estimated costs, read therapist profiles, and book directly when you’re ready.

1 Cost may vary based on your location, age, and insurance coverage.
