Many of the clients I work with look like they are holding everything together, but inside they feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in painful patterns. I support teens, adults, couples, and families in Tukwila, Renton, Burien, Seatac, Federal Way, Kent, and across Washington through telehealth. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, low self-esteem, grief, relationship conflict, family stress, and major life transitions. Welcome! and thank you for taking the time to do this step for yourself. As a psychiatric provider, I am committed to working with you and your family on your journey to healing and discovering your best self throughout this process. I am a board certified Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), currently licensed in Washington State and Massachusetts. I have been working in the healthcare industry for over two decades, treating adults age 18+ with chronic severe anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
I'm Dr. Jason Johnson, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Washington State University. I have over 15 years of experience in mental health, starting as a counselor before advancing into psychiatry. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and weight-related mental health concerns, using a comprehensive approach that includes therapy, medications, nutrition, and hormone support. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where we work together to help you feel your best.
I'm glad you're here! I work with clients from young adulthood-late adulthood moving through big shifts: a major life change, the loss of someone or something that mattered, or a relationship that's grown painful or unclear. These life events tend to scramble your footing and stability. Much of what I do is help you shake off limiting beliefs and feelings to regain your footing.
Therapeutic Approach: Reflective · Collaborative · Unhurried. We move at a pace that lets real understanding take hold, and I treat you as the expert on your own life. My job is to think alongside you.
What clients often feel before we start: People usually come to me when they've been managing something for a while and the managing has stopped working.
What drew me to this work: I'm drawn to the idea that healing and growth are already in clients, often blocked by experiences that never got fully processed. A lot of my work uses EMDR, which rests on that same premise: given the right conditions and support, the mind moves toward adaptation and resolution on its own. Before we go anywhere difficult, we build the footing for it with a few reliable tools and a sense that you can stay grounded even when hard material surfaces. Watching someone reach the point where a memory or a pattern finally loosens its grip, is why I enjoy this work.
My biggest strength is discernment and attunement: I listen closely to the patterns under the surface. I'll help you slow things down enough to see what's actually driving the moment. Pacing is part of the work.
Outside the office: My family and time outdoors are what keep me steady and energized. I swim, I read, and I seek out places and people that reset me. That's the same grounding I bring into the room with you.
As a dually certified provider, I offer a unique blend of clinical precision and compassionate, holistic care for both the body and soul. My journey began in 1995 as a nurse, followed by earning my medical degree in 2002 and completing a residency in General Pathology in Postgraduate Education Academy, Kharkov, Ukraine, which provided me with a profound understanding of the biological foundations of health. In 2006, I met my future husband and moved to the United States.
In the United States, I advanced my nursing career, working as a Registered Nurse and becoming a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in 2019. During this time, I managed complex primary care and detoxification protocols for adults and adolescents in behavioral health inpatient settings. In 2024, I achieved my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
