Welcome! and thank you for taking the time to do this step for yourself. As a psychiatric provider, I am committed to working with you and your family on your journey to healing and discovering your best self throughout this process. I am a board certified Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), currently licensed in Washington State and Massachusetts. I have been working in the healthcare industry for over two decades, treating adults age 18+ with chronic severe anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
Welcome. I provide virtual therapy to adults 18 and up in both Washington state and Florida. In addition to seeing people for a wide range of concerns including mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, I have expertise in adjustment issues/life transitions, relationship concerns, grief and loss, coping with chronic health issues, and concerns related to aging.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, and I have been working in the field since 2019. I enjoy working with a wide range of clients but especially young adults struggling with navigating anxiety, depression, ptsd, marriage and family issues. I also enjoy incorporating faith based counseling at the client's request. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping clients find solutions and build skills that create lasting change in their live.
Let's work together and help you find your direction. My counseling style is highly consultative and coaching-like. It is typically non-directive, as I believe each client pilot's their own ship, but when the situation warrants, there is plenty of idea sharing and strategizing as well.
I have been practicing for 21 years and work with clients of all ages and various backgrounds. I believe that with a strong therapeutic alliance, we can mutually come together and help you find a path forward that suits you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in Social Work, and I bring both clinical expertise and real life understanding into the therapy space. My professional background includes years of direct clinical practice as well as leadership roles in complex, high stress systems, including serving as a Mental Health Director. These experiences have shaped my ability to support individuals who are navigating pressure, responsibility, and emotional overwhelm while still being expected to function at a high level.
I work best with clients who are strong on the outside but struggling internally. Many of the people I support are women, mothers, professionals, caregivers, and helpers who are used to showing up for others while neglecting their own emotional needs. I have a particular passion for working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, imposter syndrome, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, identity concerns, and trauma related to past or ongoing stressors.
Therapy with me is not about having all the answers. It is about learning how to trust yourself, set healthy boundaries, and show up for your life with more compassion and confidence.
Hello, and welcome! My name is Theresa McDowell, PhD and I’m a dedicated School Psychologist and licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) with over 20 years of experience in mental health and education. I specialize in supporting individuals across various stages of life, offering evidence-based interventions to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and grief.
I have been working as a therapist to help clients find healing and gain understanding in themselves since 2016.
I hold a Body Acceptance Group for Women where clients work towards overcoming body shame, learn to nourish and heal their relationship with their body, and start living an empowered life.
Other areas of focus in my work are on adult family relationships, trauma, healing from sexual assault or abuse, and anxiety.
With a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and over 3 years of experience, I work with adults experiencing grief and a loss of identity related to childhood trauma, family dynamics, and significant life transitions. If you're struggling with boundaries, attachment patterns in relationships, or persistent feelings of not being enough or unworthy of love, you're in the right place. Together, we'll explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, helping you reconnect with your sense of self and move toward a life that feels more authentic and meaningful.
