Hello! I have a Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2002, with Supervisory status (2020). I am also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and have been since 1993. I am dedicated to fostering peace, respect, and healing within individuals and families. I am nurturing, patient and non-judgmental to help create a supportive environment where challenges can be addressed. I am a vocal advocate for children, teenagers, and adults. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, RTC's, with TYC, private practice (all ages for individuals and families) and MHMR (focus on crisis counseling for children and teenagers). Trauma, depression, anxiety, crisis, and grief are some of my speciality areas.
I bring more than 18 years of clinical experience supporting children who have experienced abuse and neglect, individuals working through addiction, youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, families navigating foster care and adoption, and clients experiencing acute mental health crisis. My approach is grounded in compassion, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive therapeutic enviornment.
I am a bilingual therapist who has worked in the public education system for more than 15 years. I have experience working in several settings such as public schools, non-profits and corporations. You’re carrying a lot, and you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Life can feel overwhelming when stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or major transitions start to pile up. Therapy can be a space where you slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what you’re experiencing. For over a decade, I’ve worked alongside individuals navigating some of life’s hardest moments, including trauma, substance use recovery, mental health struggles, family stress, and major life changes. I became a therapist because I genuinely care about people and believe everyone deserves support, hope, and the opportunity to heal. No matter where you're starting from, we'll work together to help you build on your strengths and create meaningful change one step at a time.
I believe healing begins with feeling heard, understood, and supported without judgment. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across outpatient, community mental health, crisis intervention, emergency departments, and behavioral health settings.
Throughout my career, I have helped individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, ADHD, mood disorders, and crisis situations. My background also includes leadership roles within behavioral health, allowing me to advocate for clients while providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to build resilience, gain insight, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. My role isn’t to tell you what to do—it’s to walk alongside you, helping you better understand yourself, work through life’s challenges, and build the confidence and skills to move forward. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and strengths-based techniques, but I also believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship we build together.
Every person is different, so I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs. With younger children, that may look like play-based therapy. With teens and adults, it often feels like a comfortable conversation where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. My goal is for every client to leave feeling heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools they can use in everyday life.
It’s so nice to meet you. I believe that taking care of your mental health is an important part of living a balanced and fulfilling life. As a licensed professional counselor, I’ve spent years helping children, teens, and adults work through challenges like depression, anxiety, and everyday stress. My goal is to create a warm and supportive space where you can feel comfortable, understood, and ready to take steps toward feeling better.
