Teresa Lyons, M.Ed., LPC, is a caring mental health professional and community advocate with over 25 years in education and more than 30 years in ministry. She has a heart for helping people find hope and healing as they navigate grief, chronic illness, and life’s challenges. Teresa specializes in academic, emotional, and spiritual care and is passionate about walking alongside others with compassion, encouragement, and wisdom. “I chose to become a counselor because of the impact counseling had on me as a young adult. At a time when I struggled to find purpose, value, and self-love, my counselor offered compassionate yet firm guidance that left a lasting mark on my life. That experience inspired me to dedicate my work to helping others discover hope, healing, and their own sense of worth.”

Hi my name is Brandy. I specialize in working with clients in crisis
I believe every person has a story worth hearing and inherent strengths worth uncovering. I am committed to culturally humble, authentic care and to meeting you exactly where you are whether you feel overwhelmed, hopeful, exhausted, curious, or somewhere in between. Together, we will build resilience, strengthen your coping skills, and help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that feel steady, capable, and strong.
Clients should know that I bring both professional expertise and genuine compassion to every session. I specialize in working with neurodiverse individuals, people managing anxiety or depression, and those navigating major life transitions. My approach is client-centered and collaborative, meaning I value your voice in the process and tailor our work together to your unique goals.
I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where you can be fully yourself without judgment. My role is to listen, guide, and equip you with tools that promote resilience, self-awareness, and growth. I also understand the importance of balancing mental health with real-life challenges like school, work, and relationships, and I integrate practical strategies to help you thrive in each area.
Most importantly, I want clients to know that they are not alone. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on both healing and building the confidence to move forward.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My approach is Humanistic and Existential, grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for your unique story. While my credentials reflect my dedication to the field, my greatest strength is the genuine care and seasoned clinical experience I bring to each person I serve.
I am a Doctor of Psychology with an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), with more than 15 years of experience in mental health and education. My academic journey began at Virginia State University, a proud HBCU, where I earned a B.S. in Psychology with minors in English and Modern Dance. I later earned an M.A. in School Counseling, with a focus on Psychology and Marriage & Family Therapy, from Phillips Graduate Institute (now Phillips Graduate University).
My clinical and professional experience spans diverse settings and communities. I have worked in every jail in Los Angeles County and served for several years as a Consulting Psychologist at one of Philadelphia’s largest rehabilitation hospitals. As a native New Jerseyan who has spent much of my adult life in Los Angeles, my work as an educator and professor in multiple states, along with decades as a professional dancer and choreographer, has shaped a deeply nuanced understanding of creativity, self-expression, and the mind-body connection.
As a professor, I explore the psychological impact of media on women’s self-esteem, helping clients navigate comparison, societal expectations, and the pressures of modern life.
Therapy with me is collaborative. I will meet you where you are, listen deeply, and help you develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and a life that feels more authentic, purposeful, and your own.
