Katy is a LMHC and has over 12 years of experience working with a wide range of mental health conditions. In addition to general treatment, Katy has experience working with the perinatal population to address mood and anxiety conditions in addition to emotional complications resulting from grief and loss, infertility, relationship issues, birth trauma, parent-child attachment issues, and attachment-based trauma that exacerbates during parenting.
My background includes supporting individuals, couples, and families from a variety of backgrounds in navigating personal and life challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting skills, grief and loss, transitions, etc. Currently, I am only offering individual services.
I also have 10+ years of specialized experience in working with survivors of sexual violence and non-offending loved ones in understanding the impact of trauma and exploring their own healing journey.
When working with me, clients feel accepted, valued, and supported in their journey. They will also be challenged to move beyond their comfort zone to create the change they desire.
Healing Across the Lifespan: A Partnership in Mental Wellness
Choosing a mental health provider is a deeply personal decision. You aren’t just looking for a prescriber; you are looking for a witness to your story, an expert in the biological complexities of the brain, and a partner in your recovery.
My name is Jessica Stanley, and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My journey to this practice has been defined by a unique duality: the macro view of a healthcare executive and the micro focus of a dedicated clinician. Before opening the doors to this practice, I served as the Clinical Director for a large-scale healthcare organization. In that role, I was responsible for the oversight of complex systems, the mentorship of large clinical teams, and the implementation of evidence-based protocols across diverse populations.
While my time in leadership allowed me to impact mental health at a systemic level, my true passion has always remained in the quiet, transformative moments of the exam room. I have returned to full-time clinical practice to bring that high-level expertise back to where it matters most: the individual human experience.
Mental health does not exist in a vacuum, nor does it look the same at age seven as it does at seventy. I specialize in treating patients across the entire lifespan. Whether I am working with a child struggling to navigate their first years of school, an adolescent facing the pressures of identity formation, or an adult managing the heavy mantle of career and family, my approach remains the same: comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence based.
Areas of Specialization
I am trained to treat a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions including:
ADHD & Neurodivergence
Anxiety Disorders
Depression
PTSD & Trauma Recovery
As a therapist, my goal is to provide empathy and compassion in an emotionally safe environment. I am passionate about helping people through the most difficult challenges life may have. I work with people to build their self-worth, ease emotional pain, and help regain a sense of enjoyment in their life as they once had. I envision helping people recognize their strengths, then build on their strengths, to help them to become more self-confident, happy and aware.
Maybe what aches most is not the change itself, but the fear that someone you love is slipping out of reach — even if that someone is you. Everything feels different, yet somehow the same. One minute you are putting on pajamas, and the next you are spiraling because it is the first moment of quiet you have had all day. There is this gut feeling that your heart can no longer be bound with band-aids, but soul-searching is a lot before the alarm goes off tomorrow. You do not have to make sense of it all alone at midnight — that is what I am here for.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Postpartum Therapist in Lexington, MA
Searching for postpartum therapists in Lexington starts with finding someone whose training matches the support you want. Postpartum care can address more than depression, including postpartum anxiety, birth-related stress, identity shifts, and relationship strain. As you compare therapists, look for experience with perinatal mental health, postpartum depression counseling, and related concerns. A PMH-C credential can also signal specialized training in perinatal mental health.
Lexington may have fewer local postpartum therapists than a larger city, so virtual care can expand your options while keeping care easier to fit into life with a new baby. Consider practical factors like appointment availability, scheduling flexibility, and whether a therapist offers a free phone consultation. Reading therapist bios can help you understand their approach, communication style, and experience with postpartum concerns before you book.
Therapy in Lexington can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and get clearer pricing before care begins. Headway helps you find therapists, verify your benefits, and show estimated out-of-pocket costs before booking, so you can review bios, compare fit, and book directly when you’re ready.
