Welcome! I’m Angelique, and it is a privilege to support you in your healing. I believe therapy is about uncovering the true self you were always meant to be. To better serve my clients, I completed a rigorous one-year trauma-focused fellowship with the Veterans Administration, working in an interdisciplinary team for rural and underserved areas. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I started my career in pediatric intensive care, which sparked my love for supporting people of all ages through hard times. I now work with both kids and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, mood changes, ADHD, autism, and substance use concerns.
I work with people who feel like life is happening to them—those carrying anxiety, depression, or overwhelming stress, still feeling the weight of past experiences or painful relationships, or noticing that old coping patterns like substance use no longer do what they used to. Most of the people I see arrive with a growing sense that something isn't working, and a willingness to try something different. My approach is collaborative, warm, and focused on understanding what's getting in the way and building a path forward together.
I'm Tayla — an LCPCS in Maryland, which means I hold both a clinical counseling license and a supervisory designation. I've spent the past 8 years doing this work, and the thing that's never changed is what I care about most: helping people feel genuinely heard, sometimes for the first time. I specialize in couples therapy, women's issues, cultural and identity work, and supporting adults navigating anxiety, panic, anger, and the weight of managing everything on their own. As a Black woman, I bring particular intention to working with clients navigating the intersections of culture, identity, and mental health — clients who want a therapist who doesn't need everything explained from scratch. My style is direct, energetic, and fully invested in where you're actually trying to go.
With years of nursing and mental health experience, I bring both expertise and compassion to my work. I help clients explore their thoughts and emotions while setting practical, achievable goals. I specialize in supporting people through anxiety, stress, and life transitions. Together, we’ll build insight, resilience, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
