I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience helping individuals heal from unresolved trauma and its impact on daily life, including relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and patterns that may feel difficult to change. My approach is warm, affirming, and solution-focused, and I strive to create a supportive space where clients can build insight, foster healing, and make meaningful, lasting change.
Hello! My name is Jason Porter. I work with adults, and teens and couples who are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or just some general life struggles. I know from experience that life can be difficult, and sometimes getting some help can make all the difference. I love to listen and help others live the life they want to live. I believe this is my purpose and feel blessed to be able to help. I started my mental health career working at a community mental health center for several years. I then moved on to School counseling, and now I am working in private practice.
I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University in 2019, but my path here didn't start in a classroom — it started in Human Resources, where I spent years helping people navigate conflict, communication breakdowns, and the messy dynamics that come with any close relationship. Turns out, those same skills translate pretty directly to couples work.

Are you struggling with sexual behaviors that feel hard to control or patterns you don’t fully understand? You’re not alone—and you’re not broken. Many people silently carry shame while navigating sexual addiction, intense emotions, or major life transitions. I work with individuals across Kansas facing sexual addiction, personality disorders, and life changes, offering a private, nonjudgmental space where you can understand your patterns, regain control, and begin building a more stable, fulfilling life.

I have been working as a clinician and an administrator for over 25 years. After gaining a Master's of Social Work, I worked in community mental health centers in Northern Arizona, Chicago, Missouri and Kansas. I have held roles as a case manager, therapist, clinical supervisor and an administrator overseeing operations of a community mental health center. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work at organizations across the country that focus on helping clients achieve wellness and balance in their lives. As a clinician, I am dedicated to providing personalized care to clients, and helping clients move towards wellness through the use of CBT, EMDR and other evidence based practices.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
The most important goal I have is providing a space where you feel heard and understood. I believe that when someone feels heard, the nervous system begins to heal. I am someone who wants to get to know you and build trust. I hope to provide a space for growth as well as laughter and joy. We all heal a little more when we can laugh with someone. I have 6 years of experience as a counseling graduate and 2 years of counseling experience from grad school. A few of my main areas of focus are anxiety, depression, OCD, attachment, and mood disorders. I specifically enjoy working with children 8 and up, teens, young adults, and women.
