Hi, I’m Jeanina. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor, a people-person at heart and someone who believes deeply in the power of hope, healing, and being truly seen.
As a Latina, I understand the importance of culture, family, identity, and the expectations we can carry while trying to find our own voice. I believe therapy should feel compassionate, approachable, and genuinely human. My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and show up as your whole self—without having to have everything figured out.
I especially enjoy working with women and young adults navigating life transitions, identity, relationships, family expectations, self-worth, burnout, anxiety, and the pressure of becoming who you are while still figuring out who that is. Your 20s and 30s and even 40s can bring so many questions: Who am I? What do I really want? Am I on the right path? Why do I feel like everyone else has it together?
Many of the women and young adults I work with have spent so much time taking care of others, meeting expectations, being strong, or simply surviving that they have lost touch with themselves. Therapy can be a place to reconnect—with your values, your voice, your relationships, your identity, and the life you genuinely want to build.
You don’t have to have all the answers before coming to therapy. Sometimes, you just need a safe place to begin asking the right questions.
I’m here to help you slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and move toward a life that feels more like you.
I truly believe I was born to help others, and caring for people has been a passion throughout my adult life. With more than 20 years of experience as a licensed counselor, I've had the opportunity to support people through anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship concerns, mood disorders, and many of life's difficult transitions.
My experience has taken me across a variety of settings and populations, including more than 10 years working with teens. I understand that reaching out for support isn't always easy, and I want you to know that you deserve a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. No matter what brings you to therapy, my goal is to meet you with compassion and without judgment as we work together toward greater clarity, healing, and a healthier way forward.

Midlife got you spinning? Not feeling yourself? Empty nest blues?
Midlife brings an undercurrent of change that few are completely prepared for. For decades, your time, energy, and identity may have been anchored by familiar roles—running a busy household, climbing a career ladder, or maintaining long-standing family dynamics. When those roles shift by way of an empty nest, career evolution, relationship changes, or retirement, the silence left behind can feel surprisingly heavy.
Many expect to feel a sense of relief or simple pride during this season. Instead, it’s incredibly common to find yourself wrestling with grief, anxiety, or a persistent question: Who am I now?
If you are feeling disconnected from your purpose, uncertain about the future, or struggling to adjust to a new pace of life, you are not alone. You haven’t lost yourself; you are simply navigating the space between who you once were and who you are becoming.
Areas of Focus
- Midlife Transitions & Role Shifts
- Self-Discovery & Identity Reconstruction

- Anxiety, Stress, and Uncertainty About the Future
My goal is to help you reconnect with your core self—not just through the roles you play for others, but as a whole person with your own distinct needs, interests, and dreams. Remember when you had needs? This isn't about starting over from scratch; it’s about reconstructing your life so that it feels deeply meaningful, aligned, and fulfilling for the years ahead.

Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I know it can feel a little intimidating. My hope is that by learning a little about me, you will feel more comfortable before we meet for the first time. I earned my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Albizu University in Miami, Fl and have been working for over 9 years in the mental health field. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals facing a wide range of emotional and life challenges in hospitals, inpatient facilities, and private practice. I specialize in helping adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, trauma, eating disorders, grief, perimenopause, and other health and women's mental health concerns.
My therapeutic style is personalized because I don't believe once approach fits all. I integrate evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness based interventions, and trauma informed techniques. Together, we will work together to identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck while developing practical skills you can use outside of our session.
You've probably been carrying more than you've let on, even to the people closest to you. I work with adults and seniors who are dealing with anxiety, depression, panic, anger they can't quite explain, or relationships that feel stuck in the same painful patterns. A lot of the people I meet with feel like they've hit a wall they can't see a way around, whether that's disappointment from the past, self doubt, or a sense that life just isn't working the way they hoped. My work is about helping you understand how you got here, where you actually are right now, and what a different path could look like.

I am the wife of a veteran, and mother of three. I have worked with children, families and couples for over 20 years in the mental health field. I believe in empowering others, providing hope, and allowing people to move at their own pace through listening to their experiences, and allowing tgem to decide what they want and where they want to move with each appointment. I have the ability to empathize in a way others can not because I have done my own therapy work, I understand in a way others do not when working with children because I have struggled with children in a way most people cannot understand if they have not lived it; this is a shared experience, a lived and challenging experience and for me , thankfully, this is a natural gift and one that I have that has only been enhanced by training and understanding of human development. Years of working with chiIdren and families, allows me to bring additional skills to the treatment room for both adults and children so everyone can meet their goals. Graduating from USC, and working in an agency that trained their staff well has allowed me to be trained in several ways to heal emotional wounds work with couples, work with the youngest children with PCIT , and use CPT to treat PTSD. Together we can work on anything from simple life issues, ADHD, moral injury, and I work specifically work with domestic violence survivors.
Connection is a basic human necessity. I am in a profession that provides others hope, healing, and growth, in their lives. There are no words to express how meaningful it is to see as someone moves through their healing process others and being a small part of helping others in their process, but it is why I do this "work". It is always an honor for me to be a part of this journey in any way.
Welcome! I'm a compassionate therapist, dedicated to fostering positive, long-lasting change. I empower individuals to navigate life's challenges and create that change in their lives. My judgment-free space is a safe haven for open exploration, ensuring you feel heard and supported. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I believe healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and genuinely supported. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative space where you can show up as you are while we work together toward meaningful, lasting change.
I work with adolescents and adults navigating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, body image concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, and relationship challenges. My approach is evidence-based and individualized. Rather than relying on a single therapy model, I draw from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and attachment-informed interventions to create a treatment plan that fits your unique needs and goals.
My professional experience extends beyond my years as an independently licensed clinician. Throughout my career, I have worked in community mental health and specialized eating disorder treatment across the full continuum of care, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient therapy. This breadth of experience allows me to support clients with complex needs at every stage of recovery.
I have a particular passion for helping individuals heal their relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves. I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to understand themselves more deeply, develop effective coping strategies, and create lasting change.
I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and am passionate about increasing access to culturally responsive mental health care for Hispanic individuals and families.
Taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult, but you don't have to do it alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing.

Find the right therapist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Sarasota
Searching for therapists in Sarasota starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Therapists may help with concerns like anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, trauma, and life transitions. As you compare Sarasota therapists, look for training and listed specialties that match what you want to focus on. Provider bios can also help you understand whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or trauma-informed care.
Sarasota has a smaller local therapy market than larger Florida cities, so virtual appointments can expand your options while still letting you work with a therapist licensed in Florida. You may prefer an in-person office near Central Sarasota, Osprey, Casey Key, or another nearby area, or you may want the flexibility of virtual sessions from home. Beyond specialty, compare appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether a free phone consultation is offered. Reading profiles before booking can help you learn how each therapist describes their approach, session style, and areas of focus.
Therapy in Sarasota can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before care begins. Headway helps you search for therapists in Sarasota who are accepting new patients, add your insurance details, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before you book, and choose between virtual and in-person care. You can browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
