Hi, I’m Jennifer — Your Professional "Life-Untangler"
Let’s be honest: taking the first step toward therapy can feel a bit like showing up to a party where you don’t know anyone and you’re pretty sure you’re underdressed. I’m here to tell you: Come as you are. Whether you’re currently holding it all together with caffeine and sheer willpower, or you’re ready to finally unpack that "baggage" you’ve been dragging around since 2014, I’ve got you.
email: [email protected]
The "Official" Stuff
I hold a Master's in Behavioral Health Psychology from Carroll University. For the past 4 years, I’ve helped people navigate the messy, non-linear, and occasionally ridiculous parts of being human. I specialize in helping:
- Expert over-thinkers (I see you).
- High-achievers who are secretly running on fumes.
- The "Carriers": Those navigating anxiety, sadness, loss, or the sheer exhaustion of caring for everyone but themselves.
How We’ll Work Together
- For Individuals: If your current coping strategy is "ignore it until it explodes," we should talk. We’ll move you from "barely treading water" to actually enjoying the view.
- For Couples — Note: I treat individuals here via insurance on Headway. For couples therapy, I offer self-pay options directly outside of insurance—reach out to discuss rates!
Want to know if we’ll click?
I’m a fan of bad jokes, overpriced lattes, and really old cats, dogs, horses, goats, chickens, etc. etc. If you’re looking for a therapist who is grounded, direct, and doesn’t use "clinical-speak" to describe your life, reach out and let’s get to work.
I’ve been providing individual, and group therapy services to ages 11 + for the last 5 years. I specialize in working with trauma, attachment disorders, AODA issues, ADHD, and chronic emotional dysregulation. I’m trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including DBT and practice from a relational-cultural framework.
I'm excited to support you in your mental wellness journey! I have lived experience with birth trauma and mental health issues. I love kids and mommies! I see moms who are pregnant and postpartum up to 2 years. I also see children ages birth to 17. For infants and toddlers, parents or caregivers are present because the treatment focus is the relationship between them, not just the child.
With 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I work with children (6+), teens, adults, and families facing anxiety, panic, OCD, body-focused behaviors like hair pulling/skin picking, eating disorders, ARFID, depression, and life transitions. I also offer parent coaching, family therapy, and couples counseling as it relates to navigating a loved one faced with some of these challenges. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges and build resilience. My approach is collaborative—together, we set meaningful goals, break them into manageable steps, and develop skills and tools for lasting change.
Do you want to take ownership over your life and regain your power? Are you ready to learn how to be vulnerable and find your inner strength? You are brilliant and resilient, so your story does not have to end the way it began! As a clinician, I believe it is important to meet clients where they are in their lives and assist individuals who have a vision of where they see themselves going. I want to be your copilot as you construct a new path for your life. If anger, anxiety, fear, your past, or depression are weighing you down, I want to help you carry your weight.
As a licensed therapist in Wisconsin, I bring over two decades of compassionate clinical experience supporting individuals through complex emotional landscapes. My approach centers on understanding each client's unique journey, with specialized expertise in addressing depression, anxiety, stress, and family dynamics. I am deeply committed to helping clients navigate challenging life transitions, from workplace stress and relationship difficulties to personal growth and self-discovery. My therapeutic practice focuses on creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment where individuals can explore their emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and cultivate meaningful personal transformation.
My work spans a wide range of focus areas, including social anxiety, trauma recovery, mood disorders, attachment challenges, and multicultural concerns. I particularly enjoy supporting young adults, men, women, and families as they work through complex emotional experiences and seek greater self-understanding and resilience.
By integrating evidence-based approaches with empathetic, client-centered care, I aim to empower individuals to reconnect with their inner strengths, build self-compassion, and create more fulfilling lives.
When drinking, using, or a pattern you can't seem to break has started running the show, or anxiety, grief, or depression has piled on top of everything else, it can feel like no one sees the whole picture. Seeing the whole picture is what I've spent thirty years doing. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor in Wisconsin with more than 10 years as a therapist, and before that, more than 20 years as a case manager for adults with mental health conditions and disabilities. I've sat beside people on their hardest days. That's where I learned to be an advocate.

Maybe you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, or relationship challenges and aren’t quite sure what is causing you to feel this way. I’m Holly Doughty, a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR and DBT therapist who works with children, teens, and adults.
