I work with adults and children who feel stuck in anxiety, worry, overthinking, or feeling easily overwhelmed. For adults, this can look like burnout, overanalyzing, and repeating patterns that are hard to break. For children, this often shows up as big emotions, shutdowns, defiance, school struggles, or not being able to explain what’s wrong. I have over 6 years of experience working with youth, including engaging kids ages 5–11 in telehealth (yes, even the ones who don’t want to talk). My style is warm, direct, and down-to-earth.

Hi, I'm Dr. Maria Moore. I am a licensed therapist with advanced training in trauma, anxiety, relationship counseling, and nervous system-based approaches to healing. I work with individuals and couples experiencing trauma, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is warm, supportive, and personalized, helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered throughout the healing process. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, IFS, and CBT to help clients move beyond feeling stuck and create meaningful, lasting change. For those who desire it, faith can also be incorporated into the counseling process.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from James Madison University. I also hold a Master's degree and Educational Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from James Madison University. I have provided outpatient counseling services in multiple community settings including higher education, military counseling centers and veteran's counseling centers.
