I work with adults and teens dealing with substance use, anxiety, anger, and grief, the kind of stuff that is hard to talk about and harder to carry alone. I am direct and practical, and I will not waste your time with vague advice. I want to understand what is actually going on and then work with you to do something about it. I’m Dr. Gina Sissoko, a licensed clinical psychologist passionate about helping women—especially Black women, immigrant women, and high-achieving professionals—heal from trauma, manage stress, and create lives that feel balanced and authentic.

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both science and cultural awareness. I specialize in supporting women navigating burnout, relationship challenges, and the effects of racism or gender bias at work. In our sessions, I create a space where you can slow down, feel seen, and rebuild confidence from the inside out.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with almost 20 years of professional work experience addressing a range of mental health issues across the lifespan. Most of my life was spent in East Tennessee but my career experience began in Virginia where I obtained my counseling license in 2014. In 2020 I moved to Yuma, Arizona, and am eligible to work with clients in both states.

Education and Credentials:

I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2003 from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. I soon followed it with my Master's degree in Counseling in 2007 at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. In 2021 I received my School Counseling Certificate from the state of Arizona.
