I support clients in integrating their spiritual and cultural values into therapy when desired and clinically appropriate. I was born in New Orleans and bring a culturally informed perspective shaped by my Latina, Indigenous, Christian, and Sephardic Jewish backgrounds.

Hi, I’m Stephen. I work with people who feel overwhelmed, pulled in too many directions, or stuck in cycles of anxiety and depression. Many of my clients are juggling work, relationships, and health while struggling to be kind to themselves. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, regain balance, and reconnect with what matters most.
I believe you deserve support that meets you with compassion and respect. Seeking therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s also a powerful step toward healing and growth. My goal is to help you feel supported as you work through the habits, patterns, and stressors that have been holding you back.
I love working with children, adolescents and adults who may struggle with anxiety, depression, family issues, or any other day-to-day challenges. My ideal client's goals would be for them to become the best version of themselves and be ready to work in and outside of therapy; wanting happiness, health, and overall a better sense of belonging and direction for their life.
There are moments where each of us experience difficult and stressful points in our lives. Whether it's a painful divorce, the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, going through stress in a relationship, unresolved self-esteem issues, questions about gender or sexuality, dealing with a troubled child, family stress, or facing pain from childhood and/or adult trauma. Life can be hard at times; there is no doubt about that. I have come to view those challenging times that we all experience, albeit in different ways, as opportunities for us to make positive changes and adjustments - what I like to call "reset moments."
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help move my clients to lasting change. I have experience working in schools, hospitals, and in my own private practice. Through individual counseling, we move from places of stagnation and fear into the amazing future that each of us deserves and I believe we can have.
I am always amazed at the strength and courage of my clients. It's never easy to take that first step, to commit to the process of change, to put in the effort to do the hard work, and to hope for more. We must always remember that each of us has the power to be who we are intended to be and to create the lives we want. I look forward to working with you...

Factors to Consider When Choosing an OCD Therapist in Houston, TX
Finding OCD therapists in Houston starts with looking for the right clinical training, not just a nearby office. Obsessive-compulsive disorder can involve intrusive thoughts, checking, contamination concerns, reassurance seeking, or mental rituals. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is a well-known therapy approach for OCD, and not all therapists are trained in it. As you compare options, look for a therapist who lists OCD, ERP, obsessive thoughts, or related anxiety concerns in their bio.
Houston has many mental health providers across neighborhoods like Montrose, the Heights, Midtown, and the Texas Medical Center area, which can make the search feel broad. Some people prefer in-person sessions close to home or work, while others choose virtual appointments to fit care into a busy schedule or widen their options. For OCD care, look beyond a therapist who generally mentions anxiety or OCD familiarity. Review their profile for specific ERP training, therapy approach, appointment availability, and whether they offer a free phone consultation before you book.
Therapy in Houston can be a significant investment without insurance, and using in-network coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you find therapists who are accepting new patients, take a wide range of insurance plans, and offer upfront cost estimates after you enter your insurance details. You can browse OCD therapists in Houston, compare bios, check availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
