I first received my Master's in Guidance & Counseling in the 1990s from Hunter College in Manhattan and obtained an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. I have also been a practicing, licensed massage therapist for nearly 30 years. I have clinical experience providing empathic mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and groups and have treated anxiety, trauma, depression, personality and eating disorders, as well as other mental health concerns. I have also treated physical disease conditions and physical trauma with mind/body techniques. Each client is unique, and raising awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the focus in working collaboratively and intentionally towards realistic solutions.
I believe in helping all age groups actualize their potential and goals. Utilizing empathy and therapeutic listening, this is a safe space to explore various life dynamics and how they impact your life. I specialize in helping people with a broad array of symptoms including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, and many other topics that cause distress or difficulty.
As a bilingual psychotherapist having worked with a wide range of demographics and populations over the years, i have learned providing a nonjudgemental and warm space is the foundation of effective therapy. If you find yourself overthinking conversations, getting stuck in the same relationship patterns, struggling to set boundaries, or feeling overwhelmed during conflict, you're not alone. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling frustrated by reactions they can't seem to change, whether that's shutting down, people-pleasing, becoming emotionally reactive, or replaying interactions long after they've happened. I'm a down-to-earth therapist who values genuine connection and practical solutions and I work with individuals and families who want to better understand their patterns and create healthier relationships.

Healing and growth can be challenging, and you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re feeling the weight of past experiences or facing challenges in your relationship, we offer a warm, welcoming space for relational psychotherapy where you can be honest about what you’re carrying and feel fully supported. Our work is grounded in relational and attachment-focused therapy with attention to somatic awareness.
We focus on what matters most—the moments that spark insight, the conversations that feel necessary but tough, and the steps that help you move forward. Together, we will process what has been difficult, nurture your connection with yourself, and deepen your bond with the people who matter most.
You don't need to figure your mental health out alone.
I work with adults dealing with a range of issues, most commonly anxiety, depression, difficulty adjusting and relationship issues. I also offer a specialty of ADHD treatment.

Factors to Consider When Choosing an LGBTQIA Therapist in Buffalo, NY
Finding LGBTQIA+ therapists in Buffalo starts with looking for identity-affirming care. A therapist’s experience with LGBTQIA+ concerns can shape how they support identity exploration, gender dysphoria, relationship stress, family dynamics, anxiety, or depression. As you compare options, look for therapists who list affirmative therapy, WPATH training, gender-diverse experience, or direct work with LGBTQIA+ communities in their profiles.
Buffalo has a broad mental health care community, but the number of therapists with explicit LGBTQIA+ experience may vary by neighborhood, schedule, and specialty. Virtual sessions can expand your options if you want an affirming therapist who may be a good fit for your needs and accepts your insurance. Before booking, review each therapist’s bio for details on populations served, therapy approach, availability, and whether they offer a free phone consultation.
Therapy in Buffalo can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs, and Headway helps make that process clearer by showing estimated costs before you book. You can search for LGBTQIA+ therapists, enter your insurance details, review therapist profiles, and book directly when you’re ready.
