I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Michigan and Missouri with over a decade of experience specializing in mental healthcare and addiction counseling. Additionally, I proudly served 10 active-duty years in the world's greatest U.S. Navy, from where I bring valuable insights as an honorable veteran. In my capacity as a Sailor, I served as both the Command Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor and as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocate. Aside from work, I enjoy time with my husband, our 4 wonderful children, and loving on our pug, Miss Pearl.My areas of expertise include assisting clients in managing stress, anxiety, addiction, grief, loss, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, depression, perimenopause, and serious mental illnesses. I specialize in addiction treatment in both substances and pornography/sexual addiction. I have been doing this work since 2009 — which means I have sat with a lot of people through a lot of different kinds of hard. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling with a dual focus in professional counseling and marriage and family therapy, and my career has moved through two distinct chapters that have shaped how I practice. The first half was spent in the world of substance use — working with individuals and families where the stakes were high and the complexity was real. The last several years have been in private practice, where I've worked with the full range of human struggle: depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, substance use disorders, parenting stress, and the disorienting moments when life shifts beneath your feet. I work with individuals, couples, and groups. Very few things surprise me at this point — and that's exactly what makes this work feel safe.

Hi! I am Valerie L. Rennon MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC, PMHNP-BC. I am a dual board certified nurse practitioner in both psychiatric mental health and women's health across the lifespan. I have been in practice for over a year now and my most recent experience has been in an underserved and underinsured area of downtown Detroit, MI.

I have also been an adjunct clinical instructor for RN students over the past 3 years. I am a graduate from Michigan State University, University of Colorado Anschutz, University of Texas Arlington and Colorado Mountain College. Having moved about the country for a bit, my husband of 18 years and I have established our home in MI with our two children, dog Curley and our bearded dragon Sami.
