Navigating life alone can be tough, Are you searching for a therapist who still believes in the miracle working power of Jesus? Is the weight of life too much to handle on your own? Are you an adult who struggles with anxiety, depression or trauma? Lets work together to help you overcome these struggles!
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky with over 7 years of experience helping people navigate life when it feels messy, overwhelming, or just plain stuck. I earned my Master’s in Social Work and have spent my career walking alongside individuals as they find hope, healing, and a way forward through some of life’s toughest seasons.
I work with adults facing stress, anxiety, grief and loss, sleep struggles, and challenges with motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I also have a strong background in supporting people in early recovery from substance use helping them build coping skills, stay grounded, and create real, sustainable change (not just quick fixes).
Outside of session, I practice what I preach: I focus on my own growth, stay active, and try to keep life in perspective which means I get the ups and downs that come with being human. I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I genuinely respect the courage it takes to show up. If you’re ready to do the work, I’m here to walk with you, challenge you when needed, and cheer you on as you build the life you deserve.
Kayla, a licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in community mental health, recognized the profound disparities in access to mental health care within BIPOC communities. The organization collaborates with a diverse team of mental health professionals who not only possess clinical expertise but also understand the unique cultural nuances and challenges faced by the BIPOC community.

I am a seasoned psychotherapist and psychiatric provider with nearly two decades of experience in the behavioral health field. After earning a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2006, I became licensed by the Kentucky Board of Social Work. I also hold national certification in case management (CCMC), am a licensed supervisory-level addictions specialist (CADAC-IV) through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium, and a licensed marriage and family therapist through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
My academic journey continued with a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University, specializing in integrated medical and behavioral health services, followed by a Post-Doctorate Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I further expanded my scope of practice through a Master’s Entry in Professional Nursing (BSN & MSN) from the University of Louisville in 2020, a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Northern Kentucky University in 2021, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University. Factors to Consider When Choosing a Postpartum Therapist in Lexington, KY
Finding postpartum therapists in Lexington starts with looking for someone whose training matches what you want support with. Postpartum concerns can include depression, postpartum anxiety, birth-related stress, identity shifts, and relationship strain. As you review therapists, look for listed experience with perinatal mental health, maternal mental health, or postpartum counseling. A PMH-C credential can also signal specialized training in perinatal mental health care.
Lexington offers local therapy options, and virtual care can make the search more flexible for new parents managing changing schedules, infant care, and physical recovery. Consider whether you prefer in-person sessions near home, work, or a child care route, or virtual appointments that fit more easily into your day. You can also narrow your search by appointment availability, therapy approach, and whether a therapist offers a free phone consultation. Reading therapist bios can help you understand how they describe their style, postpartum experience, and what sessions may look like.
Therapy in Lexington can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your out-of-pocket estimate before you book. Headway helps you find postpartum therapists who are accepting new patients, review detailed bios, check insurance fit, and book directly when you’re ready.
