Hi, I’m Iris, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, mood changes, attention difficulties, or stress that’s making daily life harder than it should be.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on the whole person. I believe mental health care should go beyond simply treating symptoms. Together, we’ll explore the factors that may be affecting how you feel—from life stressors and sleep to hormonal changes and metabolic health—and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
In addition to psychiatric medication management, I also incorporate hormone-informed mental health care and medical weight management, recognizing how closely emotional well-being, hormones, and physical health are connected.
My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered with a clear path forward.
You don’t have to navigate this alone—support is here when you’re ready.
I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University. I’ve been at Wekiva Springs Center since 2022, and have experience with patients all over the spectrum from mood disorders, to substance abuse disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and psychotic disorders.
"Support for the woman who constantly cares for others. If you feel overwhelmed and stretched thin, I’m here to help you regain your balance and well-being."
My calling to this work comes from my own experience of holding everything in, carrying the weight of caring for others, and hiding my own exhaustion. For a long time, I understood what it meant to keep going even when I needed a break, to put others' needs before my own, and to believe I had to handle everything on my own.
Through my own growth and continued practice, I have learned the importance of self-care, self-compassion, and giving myself permission to slow down. I've learned that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, and that taking a break does not mean I'm falling behind.
These experiences have deepened my passion for helping other women who find themselves caught in the same cycle of giving, doing, and carrying-while quietly putting their own needs last. I believe you can care deeply for the people you love without losing yourself in the process.
I had the opportunity to experience travel by serving in the military for 22 years. After returning home-Florida I went to school and graduated from Webster University with master's in counseling, Attended Argosy University with Doctorate in Education, Counseling, and Supervision. Populations I have served --women and men with transition and life altering events, substance use, domestic violence and women issues.
I've worked with Active-duty service members, spouses and Veterans, men and women leaving prison and teens at Job Corps.
I have worked at the Women's Center of Jacksonville, Hubbard House, River Region, Gainesville Psychiatric Clinic and Northeast Florida Women Veteran Inc.
Since COVID I've had the pleasure of working remotely.
I am an Army Veteran, Lifelong learner, Adjunct Professor, traveler, and adventurer. I enjoy learning and creating new projects, enjoy playing monopoly with family, board games and chess.
l have been practicing for over 20 years. Listening to my clients and helping them navigate this increasingly complex world is my starting point. In therapy, I meet you where you are to help you look inward to find yourself and your strength.
I have been an LCSW for over 15 years, and anxiety is where I do my deepest work..the racing thoughts, the physical tension, the constant "what if" that won't quiet down. I also work with clients navigating depression, major life changes, grief and divorce. But if anxiety is running the show in your life, that is exactly where I want to start.
Facing life transitions, career challenges, retirement, relationship issues? Coping with getting older? Health problems?
I was in corporate America and Hollywood for 35 years. I'm a happy dad and grandfather, and a cancer survivor with an autoimmune disorder.
I get it. Life can be a struggle or a joy. I went to grad school at age 55 to learn how to help people like us live the life we want.
Sometimes the way you learned to cope is no longer helping you live the life you want. You may turn to substances when emotions become overwhelming, find yourself reacting with anger you later regret, or feel trapped between anxiety, depression, and painful experiences from your past. These struggles can begin affecting your relationships, family, confidence, and ability to recognize yourself. I provide virtual individual and family therapy in English and Spanish for adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout Florida, with a focus on substance use and addiction, anxiety, depression, anger management, and trauma. I also support clients navigating family and relationship issues, PTSD, grief and loss, stress, major life transitions, women’s issues, maternal mental health, identity concerns, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and eating disorders when these challenges intersect with the primary reasons they seek therapy. My goal is to help you understand what is keeping you stuck, reconnect with your strengths, and develop healthier ways to move forward.

Find the right therapist for you

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Fort Pierce
Finding therapists in Fort Pierce starts with knowing what kind of support you want and which specialties match your needs. Therapists may work with concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions. As you compare options, look for someone whose listed specialties, therapy style, and experience align with what you want to address. A therapist’s profile can also show whether they use approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or trauma-informed care.
In a smaller city like Fort Pierce, local therapist availability may vary by neighborhood, schedule, and session format. Virtual appointments can expand your options beyond nearby offices while still connecting you with a therapist licensed in Florida. As you narrow your search, consider appointment times, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading profiles before booking can help you understand how each therapist communicates, what session structure may look like, and whether their approach fits your preferences.
Therapy in Fort Pierce can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and make ongoing care easier to plan for. Headway helps you find therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, see estimated out-of-pocket costs before you book, and choose between virtual and in-person care when available. You can browse therapists, review bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
