I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and the majority of my background comes from working in public health and child protective services. I am passionate about providing care that is both clinically effective and deeply human. My work is rooted in an evidence based approach, which means I rely on proven treatments, research and best practices to guide care.

I especially love supporting women navigating anxiety, depression, big life changes, postpartum, and the ups and downs of motherhood. Kim Colna, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience providing evidence-based mental health care. She specializes in working with pediatrics and adults supporting clients through a wide range of challenges including anxiety, OCD, ADHD, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, and other mood and thought disorders.

Kim is experienced in providing treatment in a variety of settings to include hospitals, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient, residential, nursing homes, schools, and homes. She is affiliated with CU and the Pediatric Mental Health Institute at Childrens Hospital Colorado where she continues to work on a part-time basis on the Emergency/Consultative service.

Although my degree is in Mental Health Counseling, my treatment method is psychoanalysis. This means that each treatment is developed and conducted for the client in question, their specific issues and inquiries they have about their own symptom.

Psychoanalysis emphasizes on guiding individuals in finding their own resources, gaining a knowledge about what is happing to them and the cause of their distress.

I have a heart to see breakthrough, healing, and freedom for my clients. I have 20+ years history of working with adolescents and adults with learning differences: neurodivergence, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and executive functioning deficits. I have extensive experience working with individuals struggling with trauma, abuse, identity, and somatic issues.

I have wanted to be a therapist since I was twelve years old after seeing a guru use his expertise to connect with a troubled child who had only known how to push others away.
