I'm a licensed clinical social worker who works with individuals navigating trauma, neurodivergence, substance use, relationship and marital challenges, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and LGBTQ+ populations. I use a variety of approaches including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based interventions, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am Kaliyah Hughes, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Doctorate in Professional Counseling and deep roots in community mental health, crisis support, and psychiatric care. I work with adults, children, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, and more. I help people heal from trauma, with a special focus on sexual trauma, and I’ve been honored to support a wide range of individuals — including women, men, military veterans, and LGBTQIA clients — as they work through their experiences and take meaningful steps toward healing. I also enjoy helping people work through challenging life transitions (e.g., parenthood, divorce, etc.) and identity-specific concerns (e.g., men's issues, women's issues, gender identity exploration). In addition to individual therapy, I also provide relationship therapy for monogamous, non-monogamous, and open relationships as well as psychological assessment (e.g., ADHD, dementia, learning disorder, mental health) for adults.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I received my Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Master's in Psychology/Educational Psychology from Capella University. I am clinically trained in multiple modalities to include EMDR, Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, and Trauma Psychotherapy.

I am a dual-certified Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC, AGACNP-BC) providing integrative psychiatric care for adolescents and adults in Virginia. I work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, burnout, mood disorders, and life transitions. My work centers on understanding the whole person, not just symptoms.
