As a psychologist with over 15 years of experience in clinical work, I believe that everyone can learn more effective ways to reach their goals! I strive to assist my clients in learning how to manage their emotions as well as the curve balls life likes to throw at us through the use of science backed approaches, connection and humor.
I like people. I want people to see the value in themselves and others. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist, clinical social worker, family court expert, and education advocate. My experience allows me to identify and therapeutically process subtleties, complexities, and inconsistencies in an individual's presentation, without judgment. We are human, and what life gives us, whether through biology or social circumstances, can be extremely challenging. No problem is too big or too small to be overwhelming or insignificant.
William brings one of the more distinctive backgrounds on the Headway platform: a former Army Chaplain with over 15 years active military experience, personal experience with therapy, and a rich modality set spanning EMDR, EFT for couples, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems, and Narrative Art Therapy. Married with adult children, he is ready to walk alongside his clients to help them through and out of their situation and onto reaching goals of their own. With over 30 years of counseling in a wide variety of settings and groups, let William see if he can help you today. Schedule a session now. Now accepting clients. Share with your friends!
I'm Sam — I work with teens and adults navigating some of life's harder chapters. I've had the chance to work with people carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, relationship stress, and the kind of slow-burn exhaustion that builds when life isn't matching the life you imagined. What matters most to me is that you feel like yourself in the room (or on the screen) — not performing okayness, not bracing for judgment. I'm newer to the field, which means my training is current and evidence-based, and I bring genuine enthusiasm to this work rather than going through the motions. I offer a sliding scale for those who need it. Sessions are available virtually across South Carolina.
Everyone has a story and sometimes parts of that story can feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. I became a therapist because I believe every person’s story deserves to be heard, understood, and worked through with others. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, past trauma, or major life transitions, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I work with both adolescents and adults to create a supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.
I help children, teens, adults, and families navigate trauma, anxiety, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, grief, and life transitions. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the next step. I believe therapy is a stepping stone, not a destination. Together, we'll develop practical skills, restore hope, and strengthen your confidence so you can continue growing long after therapy ends and create the life you want.
Life has a way of piling things on—stress that won't let up, anxiety that keeps you up at night, grief that catches you off guard, or relationships that feel harder than they should. If any of that sounds familiar, I want you to know: you don't have to carry it alone, and things really can get better. I bring a warm, genuinely listening ear to every session. Before anything else, I want to understand your story—what you're feeling, what's weighing on you, and what a better day would actually look like for you. From there, we work together.
