I have been active in the mental health community since 2019. During this journey, I have had the honor of working with clients from an array of backgrounds and various life experiences including and not limited to survivors of sexual violence, LGBTQ+ individuals, individuals experiencing housing instability, and overall assisting people as they navigate their personal healing journey.
With over 14 years of dedicated experience, Tinika provides a compassionate and inclusive space for individuals navigating life’s most complex emotional landscapes. Specializing in sexual trauma recovery, gender identity, and LGBTQ+ affirming care, Tinika understands that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process.
Their practice is rooted in a holistic philosophy, looking beyond symptoms to honor the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. By blending an open-minded perspective with solution-focused modalities, Tinika helps clients move through depression and anxiety toward a life of authenticity and resilience. Whether you are seeking to reclaim your narrative after trauma or exploring the nuances of your identity, Tinika offers a partnership built on safety, respect, and clinical excellence.
Counseling is actually my 2nd career, doing I.T. Support was my 1st.
While working in that field, I told people that I did just as much counseling as I did I.T. work. Many people came to see me feeling anxious, angry, stressed, overwhelmed, or in grief because of technology issues.
I quickly learned two issues were going on:
· One was technical and the other was emotional.
· One needed repair and the other needed relief.
So, I addressed the person and their emotions first and then addressed their I.T. issues. I spent thousands of hours sitting with people, fixing their technology and giving space for their emotions and...I loved it!
I didn’t realize it then, but these were my first steps which would lead me into pursuing a career as a therapist. Now my work is in Emotional Support and instead of addressing hardware and software, I get to address brainware and heartware.
As a working parent and spouse, I can relate to how stressed and overwhelming dealing with daily life can be. I’ve spent over 15 years in the counseling field helping individuals, families, and couples navigate everything from daily stress to mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma related disorders. I’m practical and realistic in my approach and love to walk through life with the clients I meet.
My goal as a therapist is to help my clients discover the "TRUE" and more " CONTENT" person within. The primary goal is to work together to develop creative ways or alternatives to help you to live a healthier lifestyle. Here to help guide through that journey to become the best you.
