I am a dual-credentialed Clinical Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and an Independent Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) for over 8 years. I have experience working with children and teens (along with supporting parents), young adults, people with disabilities, and women.

I believe in caring for the whole person through mind, body, and spirit. I also offer Christian counseling upon request, allowing faith and the Holy Spirit to guide our time together.

I earned a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati after working in Children's Protective Services and Juvenile Court facilities. I have years of experience helping children, youth and families connect and function in more healthy ways. I see adults and couples as well, and strive to facilitate healing of hearts and marriages.

I have personal and professional experience in foster parenting and adoption. One of my special areas of interest is the effects of nutrition and exercise on mental health. I have utilized Equine-assisted Psychotherapy for twenty years as a specialty.

My clinical degree is a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA, MSW equivalent) from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio (2016). I completed my Master of Education in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) from University of Cincinnati (2016), and have experience as a provider of ABA services. I have a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University(2020).

I have served OH and MI areas for over 2 decades. Once specializing in children, now I enjoy working with preteens, teens, and adults who can participate more actively in their treatment. I started specializing in trauma in 2016 after I completed extensive training.

You don't have to have everything figured out to start. Many people who reach out are carrying grief, anxiety, depression, or the weight of trauma, and they just need somewhere safe to bring it. I'm Melissa, an LPCC with nearly 15 years of experience, including over a decade in inpatient psychiatric settings. That background taught me how resilient people really are. I work with adults navigating PTSD, women's issues, life difficulties, and more. I'd love to be part of your journey.
