I'm a licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of experience working with adults navigating some of life's hardest seasons — infertility, adoption, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and the kind of grief that doesn't have a clear name yet. I'm faith-integrated in my approach, which means I honor the role spirituality plays in your life without ever making it a requirement. My clients describe me as warm, easy to talk to, and refreshingly direct. I don't do one-size-fits-all therapy — every treatment plan starts with your story.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1998 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and my Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy in 2001 from UNLV as well. I have been seeing clients in private practice for over 25 years. I have been an AAMFT Approved Supervisor for over 15 years. I have worked in many capacities, including school counseling, teaching, juvenile justice, and community agency work. In April 2023, I began working as the Clinic Director at UNLV's Center for Individual, Couple, and Family Counseling at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. I continue to maintain a small private practice and supervise state interns in MFT and LCPC.

I have expertise in CBT, DBT, ABFT, EFT, and EMDR. I use a combination of attachment-based and trauma-informed theories, which provide strong foundations for healing and skill-building.

I have my Masters in Psychology from New York University and am Nationally Board Certified as a counselor. Currently taking clients in New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.

I have experience with a diverse population of clients, and extensive experience working with emerging adults (18-25), couples, families and adults of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, I also have experience with creative professionals in music/art fields, working with Backline Care.

My name is Dr. Julia Catlin, and I am so glad you’re here. I am a licensed psychotherapist based in Las Vegas, NV, and I provide psychotherapy via telehealth throughout Nevada and Virginia. My passion: creating a space for meaningful, transformative psychotherapy. I have been in the mental health field since 2013, but in the last few years, I have focused on providing treatment to military veterans and dependents, as well as industry professionals and performing artists.

I’m an LCSW. I really enjoy getting to know my clients and building a strong therapeutic relationship with them. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, sense of self, and also high achievers. Many things can stir up emotions, past experiences and trauma. My goal is to help you understand and work through those experiences and feelings. I'll help you reconnect with your inner strength and resilience, moving past the painful experiences that may be holding you back. I can support you in letting go of negative self-views, reducing your levels of distress, and building a renewed sense of confidence, worth, and peace.
