I've been a therapist since 2015 and have worked with all kinds of people, from those facing homelessness in Detroit to curious five-year-olds learning about their feelings. I’m trained in Gottman Couples Therapy, have training in infertility mental health both in the US and abroad, and am working toward a perinatal mental health certification. I like to mix proven methods with warmth and a good sense of humor, so you'll always feel at ease. Helping you find your own strength and grow is what inspires me, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
We all face challenging feelings, these feelings are normal; however, sometimes we need to develop the right tools to deal with them in a healthy way. I have a passion for mental health and supporting those on their journey to wellness. I integrate mental, physical, and spiritual health to help clients achieve overall wellness.
Seeking support takes courage and I’m so glad you’re here. I work with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the many stressors that come with every day life.
I also specialize in women's health, with a focus on supporting women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. I enjoy working with new moms and parents who may be feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure of themselves as they navigate the demands and identity shifts that come with parenthood.
I have a diverse clinical background, including working with teens in a partial hospitalization program, as well as young adults at the University of Michigan’s college counseling center.
Welcome! I’m Emily, the founder and sole clinician at North of Now Therapy. I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults navigating anxiety, grief, infertility, and life transitions.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and hold a Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I am licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Michigan.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health clinics, and private practice. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals from diverse backgrounds as they navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges.
