Hello, my name is Sharna DeLuca. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been practicing since 2008. I specialize in helping people manage and reduce their stress, depression and anxiety. I have a passion for assisting clients with developing healthier communication skills.
I'm Nicole, a Licensed Professional Counselor with seven years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in Michigan, and I believe the right support can shift what feels impossible to change on your own.
I specialize in depression and anxiety, life changes, substance use and addiction counseling, marriage and family therapy, and anger management. I also support clients working through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, and life transitions, working with adolescents through seniors across a wide range of challenges. People come to me when they've been carrying something for a long time: a substance they keep trying to quit, a relationship dynamic that won't change no matter how hard they try, or an anger that costs them more than it should. My goal is to help you recognize your own strengths, build the tools you need, and feel more in control of where your life is going.
I personally know what it is like to struggle with anxiety and despair. I also know what it is like to go to therapy and to get little benefit from it. Many years ago, my emotional life changed dramatically when I stumbled onto resources that addressed my actual needs, and subsequently I devoted myself to a career promoting better mental health practices than I was taught when I was young.
Simply put, I teach people six interrelated psychological skills that you can use to transform your life. If all you want to do is explore the past, I'm not your best option - I focus on the past only enough to get us moving toward the future you want. I love to help people develop psychological superpowers that they can use to get the life they always hoped for, starting from where they are now and moving forward into a future they find worthwhile.
Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a deputy sheriff, firefighter, EMT, 911 dispatcher, and U.S. Navy Reserve member. That background shapes how I show up in sessions: direct, practical, and without judgment. I pursued counseling because I found I was genuinely good at helping people feel better, and I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, and difficult life decisions. If you have been waiting to talk to someone, I am glad you are here.
