I believe that optimal mental health is achieved through an ongoing, multi-pronged approach. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner I am well trained in the art and science of prescribing medications to improve mental health symptoms. I also encourage adjunctive treatment modalities such as CBT. Empowering patients to care for themselves is part of my goal. I embrace opportunities to help my patients gain greater personal insight, because when you can see yourself, you can change yourself.

I work with people who feel like life is happening to them—those carrying anxiety, depression, or overwhelming stress, still feeling the weight of past experiences or painful relationships, or noticing that old coping patterns like substance use no longer do what they used to. Most of the people I see arrive with a growing sense that something isn't working, and a willingness to try something different. I am Dr. Christie Simon-Waterman, a dually certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over a decade of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic care across the lifespan. My clinical background spans primary care, mental health, and community-based health, allowing me to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

I then completed my Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have over twenty years of experience working in healthcare. Psych has always been my passion. My experiences encompass working with clients across the life span, including Child and Adolescents, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations. I’ve provided services to clients presenting with many psychiatric disorders, such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and more. I’m in the belief that mental health wellbeing is a priority. Human beings are resilient. Holistic care is the key to promoting better patient outcomes.
