I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, substance use, and men's mental health. As a clinical mental health therapist, I understand the particular weight that comes with seeking help and the cognitive distortions that may keep one from getting help --Catastrophizing: Seeing only the worst possible outcomes of a situation. My clients often come to me having tried everything else, or feeling like therapy 'isn't for them.' I aim to change that experience from the first session.

My name is Marisa and I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 6 years of experience providing mental health services to individuals from widely diverse backgrounds, with varying symptoms and diagnoses. Throughout the past couple of years, I have been predominately working with women (adults and teens) who experience anxiety, trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, and interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges. While many of the clients I support have experienced trauma, particularly in some form of abuse, I am equipped to work with clients with a wide range of additional concerns, as well.

I am a queer-identified African American cisgender woman. My pronouns are she/her. I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling degree. I have over 12 years of experience effectively treating mental health and substance abuse concerns in LGBTQIA2S+ persons (sex positive; kink affirming), BIPOC and other PGM folx, and femme-identified persons.
