I am licensed to practice professional counseling in Florida and Missouri with a specialty in addictions and co-occurring disorders. I have been assisting clients since 2011, but in recent years my primary focus is with adults ages 18 and older.

I chose to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because I am passionate about helping individuals improve their mental health and overall quality of life. Mental health challenges can significantly affect every aspect of a person’s well-being, relationships, and daily functioning, and I believe compassionate, patient-centered care can make a meaningful difference.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. My name is Tom Kauffmann and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I was awarded a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah in 2015, where I attended classes on their campus in Salt Lake City. I also graduated from a one year licensed alcohol and drug counseling program (LADC) in 2013 at the same university prior to getting my Master's degree. I specialize in using cognitive behavioral techniques and strategies to help folks investigate how they think about things.

I have 30 years of experience of helping those with those who have mental health, addictions and relationship problems. I am honored to help all who seek help with any of these issues. I help clients find solutions in a safe and non-judgmental place.

I approach work with my patients with genuineness, unconditional positive regard, and empathy. I work with my patients according to their goals in a collaborative manner. I also meet my patients where they are, with challenges that are digestible.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a unique educational background in Pre-Pharmacy and Bachelors of Science in Biology. This diverse educational background plays a role in my ability to encompass the mind, body, soul approach during therapy. I have a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, biopsychosocial assessments, and culturally competency care. I specialize in working with a wide range of populations, but particularly youth and families impacted by trauma. I have experience helping clients navigate complex medical needs, coping with negative emotional stressors, accessing resources, and overcoming the unexpected.
