Charmaine is a christian woman that is warm and challenging. Charmaine enjoys getting to know the strength and character of her clients. She is strong yet compassionate and nonjudgmental.
My journey stems from my own story of resilience in the face of hardships. I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through some of their darkest hours. Being exposed to some dark hours myself, I know that it is difficult to do it alone. When you have someone to confide in, assist you through the hard times, and just let you know that you are not alone, makes a difference.
My therapeutic approach includes CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Relational Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, SFT, EFT, IFS, and just speaking like a human being. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. My approach is relational and personalized—we'll explore your story together, build coping tools, and move toward healing with curiosity, courage, and care.
Therapy with me is real, down-to-earth, and never boring. I mix honesty, humor, and heart to make the process comfortable. I help adults manage emotions, build confidence, and tackle life's challenges with tools that work. Think of it as a safe space to be yourself, grow, and maybe laugh along the way. My name is Yolanda Cockerham, and I am currently based in Louisiana, but I also see patients in the D.C. area. I grew up in New Orleans. I completed my Post Master’s Degree at Southeastern Louisiana University and am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am skilled in assessing and treating a variety of mental health disorders, including Anxiety/PTSD, Major Depression, Bipolar/Mood Disorders, and Schizophrenia.
Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of clinical experience. Though I consider myself a generalist having worked in multiple settings with a range of issues, my niches include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and eating and body image concerns. These are issues I have personal experience with, and the tools I offer are ones I practice myself.
I am passionate about helping people reduce burnout, and develop a flexible relationship with food and the body, based on hunger, your schedule, accessibility to food and your feelings. The body changes based on age, injury, activity level and other things, and I understand that it can be hard to be kind to ourselves, given the culture we live in.
I aim to be non-judgmental, upfront, and supportive.
I am a licensed therapist and the founder of The F.L. Wolters Group, a therapy and wellness practice based in Washington DC. I bring more than 15 years of experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, and burnout.
Throughout my career I have worked with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, including high achieving professionals, caregivers, and people managing significant life and career transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed or carrying a great deal of responsibility in their personal and professional lives.
In addition to providing therapy, I developed the FLWG Way, an integrated model of care that blends high quality therapy with community based wellness programming grounded in the eight dimensions of wellness.
