I'm Magdalena, and I've been doing this work for 14 years — across schools, community
mental health, and private practice. What that span of experience gave me is range: I've
worked with people in serious crisis and people who are simply stuck, and I've learned
that the gap between those two things is smaller than most people think. I trained at
UNC Wilmington and have spent my career working with adults across the full
complexity of what life throws at people — anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting,
major life transitions, and identity. I offer therapy in both English and Polish, and I'm
LGBTQ+-affirming. I accept insurance and offer a sliding scale. My goal isn't to be your
therapist forever — it's to give you what you need so you can get on with your life.
I am passionate about helping clients cultivate greater balance, vitality, and overall well-being in their lives. I have experience working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, disordered eating, substance use disorders, and insomnia. I earned my degree from Hunter College in New York City, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based, client-centered care.
My approach when it comes to therapy is typically hands-on through exploration of thoughts, as well as creating mindfulness and using tools like journaling and reflections to provide more insight That may create stressful circumstances
Starting therapy is a meaningful step towards understanding yourself and creating lasting change. Together well work to explore the challenges youre facing, and help you mover towards greater balance and fullfillment.
You're the one people call when things fall apart. You're good at it — steady, competent, the person who knows what to do. And somewhere along the way you stopped having anywhere to put your own stuff.
So you can run the meeting, hold the crisis, answer the phone at 2 a.m. — and still not be able to make yourself open the mail. Competence and collapse live together far more often than anyone admits out loud.
I work with adults carrying that particular load: substance use and recovery, emotions that arrive at full volume with no dimmer switch, thoughts of self-harm or not wanting to be here, and the specific erosion that comes from caring for other people for a living. Helpers, clinicians, parents, first responders — people whose exhaustion doesn't have an obvious place to go. I work with teenagers too, often the ones in families like these.
My style is direct, warm, and collaborative. I'm not going to nod quietly for fifty minutes. We'll find what's actually driving things, build skills you can use on a Tuesday afternoon when it counts, and I'll tell you honestly what I'm seeing. You set the pace. I'll bring the structure.
As a therapist with 8 years of experience, I believe that therapy is a collaborative space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.
I specialize in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and concerns related to life transitions. I’m here to help you better understand yourself, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful change.
My approach is compassionate, practical, and individualized to your needs.
If you've lost someone to suicide, you know that grief doesn't fit neatly into a box, and finding a therapist who truly understands that kind of loss can feel impossible. I've spent my career doing crisis work alongside police departments and mobile crisis units, and I specialize in working with people navigating suicide loss, as well as first responders and fellow mental health professionals who carry more than most people realize. If that sounds like you, you're in the right place.
Therapy should feel both supportive and empowering, and that is exactly what I work to create. I am a licensed clinical social worker who brings a warm, empathetic presence to every session, so that you can explore your experiences without judgment.
With over 5 years of experience as a therapist (including my time as an LMSW), I've worked with a wide range of people across all stages of life. So much of the work I do happens at a threshold — that space between where someone has been and where they're trying to go. Maybe you're in the middle of a life transition that's left you feeling lost. Maybe you and your partner keep circling the same argument. Maybe you're a woman who's spent so long caring for everyone else that you've lost track of your own needs. Or maybe your family feels stuck in patterns everyone can feel but no one can quite name. Whether I'm working with an individual, a couple, or a family, my goal is to help clients find their voice, strengthen their relationships, and build a life that feels grounded and intentional. I offer a collaborative, insight-oriented space where clients can explore what's holding them at that threshold and find their way through it.
