I am a native Texan, auntie, ice cream-loving, roller skating, retired professional athlete who also happens to be a Therapist. My background in the world of mental health dates back 10 years, in my work with families of Autism, Substance abuse and misuse, Student-athletes, Life- transitions, and family therapy. I enjoy introducing people back to themselves as they unpack their past with grace and patience. If you are experiencing racing thoughts, overthinking, or people-pleasing, let our work together find the root cause and, from there, uncover solutions that work for you. I believe that therapy does not have to be "forever," and my role is to safely get you to a place of wholeness within your next quest and journey.

I work with adults who are high-functioning on the outside but quietly struggling on the inside—people dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, or life transitions that have left them feeling unmoored. I believe therapy should be practical and personal, not one-size-fits-all. My clients tend to be thoughtful, self-aware people who want to do the work—they just need the right support and structure to do it.
I’m Thomas Moore, LPCC, a licensed professional clinical counselor providing therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, identity development, and complex relational patterns. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in repeating cycles such as overthinking, people pleasing, emotional shutdown, intense reactions, or difficulty maintaining stable relationships even when they logically understand what they should do. My goal is to help you translate insight into real change.
My approach is structured and compassionate. I integrate evidence based methods including cognitive restructuring, emotional regulation training, interpersonal effectiveness skills, and trauma informed therapy. Sessions focus on understanding why your brain reacts the way it does and building practical tools you can actually use outside the therapy room. This is not only about talking through problems but learning how to respond differently when they show up in real life.
I work well with clients who want more than passive support and are ready to build skills, increase self awareness, and interrupt patterns that no longer serve them.
What clients should know before starting
Therapy with me is collaborative and active and you will learn strategies rather than only venting. We will work on understanding both the emotional and neurological side of your reactions. Sessions focus on present day functioning while also addressing past experiences that still affect you. I may gently challenge patterns when it supports growth while maintaining a supportive and respectful space. Progress often comes from small repeated changes rather than sudden breakthroughs.
If you are looking for therapy that combines validation with practical change, we will likely work well together.
I began this journey just seeking to learn about psychology and the nature of human behavior. The more I learned, the more I became fascinated with how resilient humans are in the face of significant challenges. However, what I found was that people will continue to live with underlying pain, because of the stigma previously put on people seeking help with mental health and trauma issues. I found that people created their own ways of coping and it often involved creating more harm. I knew at this time that I wanted to help people begin to face tough emotions and move toward healing the emotional pain.
I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1991 and a Master of Science Degree in General Psychology in 1993 from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS. I later went back for another Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Avila University in Kansas City, MO in 2014.
I have worked in the areas of domestic violence, at-risk youth, at-risk families, foster and adoption, and addiction. I specialize in working with trauma and addiction.
I'm a solution-focused therapist who helps clients identify practical, meaningful ways to move forward while creating space to better understandthe patterns that keep them feeling stuck. My style is direct, collaborative, and authentic, and I believe that growth happens through honest conversationspaired with actionable strategies. I also value humor when it's helpful, recognizing that it can make difficult work feel more approachable and human.
My primary focus is working with adolescents, families, and adults, though I have a range of experience working with people of all ages and many different demographics. In particular, I have a strong background in working with at-risk youth, kinship caregivers, and foster/adoptive families. I also have a background of working with young adults transitioning to independent living, as well as adults of all ages.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado, and have been practicing as a therapist since 2022. This has given me an understanding of the many challenges life can bring, and equipped me with the tools to support you in navigating various barriers and difficulties.
