Hi, I’m Becca.
Reaching out for mental health care can feel like a big step. Once you’re here, it shouldn’t have to feel hard. You don’t need to have the right words or know exactly what you need. We can figure that out together.
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a doctorate in nursing, and I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, life transitions, neurodivergence, and the complicated stuff that doesn’t always fit neatly into a diagnostic box.
I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy. More than anything, I believe good mental health care starts with actually listening to you. I want to know what’s working, what isn’t, what you’ve already tried, and what you want your life to feel like.
You are more than a diagnosis, and your care should feel that way.
I am Stanley Okeyemi, the founder of Brighter Light Behavioral Health Services. I am currently licensed as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) in Texas, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Washington, North Carolina, Nebraska, Virginia and New York. I have been working in the mental health industry for 16 years, but licensed as a PMHNP for four years, with a vast amount of experience and affiliations with over 40 hospitals/clinics combined across the USA
With over a decade of experience, I am dedicated to helping adults find peace, clarity, and emotional balance. I take a holistic, person-centered approach, combining clinical expertise with genuine compassion to support my clients' journey to restoration. I have extensive experience in mental health, correctional healthcare, and community psychiatry.
My path into psychiatry is both professional and personal. I moved to the U.S. alone at 17 while navigating complex PTSD and periods of misdiagnosis, which shaped how I understand mental health today. I began with a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Nankai University, then trained as a nurse and nurse practitioner at Charles R. Drew University and Purdue University.
Over the past 7 years, I’ve worked across medical and mental health settings, developing an approach that balances clinical precision with individualized care. I specialize in anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and complex PTSD, particularly for individuals who feel stuck or haven’t found relief in traditional treatment.
I’m licensed in California, Virginia, New York, Washington, and Oregon, and provide care via telehealth.
Board certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry, I bring years of experience helping people manage ADHD, anxiety, and depression across all ages. My background spans a wide range of clinical settings and diverse populations, giving me the flexibility to meet you where you are. I practice telehealth-only medication management, so you can access care from the comfort of home, whatever your schedule looks like.
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe mental health care should be collaborative and centered on who you are as an individual. I support adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, mood disorders, and more. Through trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, individualized treatment plans, comprehensive medication management, and therapeutic support, I create a judgment-free space where we can show up authentically and work together toward meaningful progress. My background includes experience as an outpatient psychiatric provider, inpatient psychiatric registered nurse, and in community reproductive health, allowing me to bring a broad and well-rounded perspective to the care I provide. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology, which have shaped my understanding of the many varying factors that impact mental health.

Find the right psychiatrist for you
Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Arlington
Finding psychiatrists in Arlington starts with knowing which type of mental health care fits your needs. Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners can diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication over time. Therapists focus on talk therapy and may be a good fit for counseling in Arlington, depending on what you want support with. If you are looking for care related to anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or medication management, look for a psychiatrist whose listed training and specialties match those needs.
Arlington has local options near neighborhoods like Ballston, Clarendon, and Crystal City, though appointment times with psychiatrists can vary. Virtual appointments can expand your options if nearby offices or commute times make scheduling harder. Psychiatric medication management visits are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, and some psychiatrists also offer therapy. Some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. As you compare Arlington VA psychiatrists, read bios for details on clinical focus, appointment format, communication style, and whether a free phone consultation is available.
Psychiatric care in Arlington can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs. Headway helps you find psychiatrists who are accepting new patients and match your preferences, and you can enter your insurance details to check which providers are in-network for your plan. You can enter your insurance details to see an estimated cost before booking, then review profiles and book directly when you are ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
