My name is Christiana Nmezi, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, PTSD, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder and insomnia. I understand that every person's story is unique, and I believe that effective treatment begins with listening, understanding, and building s trusting therapeutic relationship.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) licensed in WA, NY, NM, and AZ. With 18 years of dedicated experience in psychiatry, I bring a unique, deeply grounded perspective to your care. I’ve spent nearly two decades sitting with clients, listening to their stories, and watching what treatments truly work in real life.
My journey in this field began with a fascination for individual development across the lifespan, particularly in relational and identity formation. I earned my B.S. in Developmental Psychology and Women & Gender Studies, which laid the foundation for my interest in this field. Following my undergraduate studies, I completed two terms of service with AmeriCorps, providing support to individuals and families at Community Resource Centers in California throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area. Through these experiences, I gained valuable insight into how strong communities are built by supporting the well-being of individuals and families. This work ultimately inspired me to pursue an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sonoma State University.
Welcome to my boutique private practice: Hindsight Counseling, PLLC. I commend you on seeking out therapy. Life can be difficult on its own and we have been in trying times for years now. Therapy can be so helpful when you find the right therapist.
I offer a unique experience to a small caseload of clients. I believe the therapeutic alliance to be paramount, and am dedicated to providing therapeutic care & services that are customized just for you and your individual needs. You deserve a therapist equally committed to being present during session as a professional, and walking-the-walk as a fellow human.
I am a well-seasoned counselor with decades of experience.
As your therapist, my primary commitment is to help you succeed in the ways that matter to you. Together, we’ll explore your underlying thoughts, feelings, and desires and consider how they may be influencing your life. We’ll look honestly at what is working and what isn’t. I’ll offer insight, guidance, and support while respecting your pace and where you are in the process. Our work will focus on creating meaningful, lasting change that reflects what matters most to you.
As a clinician I provide evidence based treatments including cognitive behavioral, solution focused, mindfulness based stress reduction, and compassion focused therapy. In addition to these practices, I incorporate an art as therapy treatment for those that find communicating verbally intimidating. I have several specializations, including one in child/adolescent mental health; and another one in trauma focused best practices. Over the past year, I have been incorporating indigenous knowledge and respectful design into my work with the tribal members in South America.
I believe people are capable of surviving adversities of life and succeeding. There are no perfect people. We all need love and acceptance and through working together all things are possible.
I am a family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I received my advanced degree from Regis University and a postgraduate certificate in Psychiatry and Mental Health from the University of Cincinnati.
