I believe prioritizing mental health is key to happiness and stability in life. Seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking that step! I’ve been practicing since 2011. I have worked with many populations and age ranges, I began my own private practice in 2016, where my focus switched primarily from addiction to trauma. I realized that trauma brings on many additional mental health challenges that may be resolved through trauma treatment.
I like to explore modalities with clients that both support and go beyond talk therapy in order to get to the deepest roots of the issues, which tend to lie at the subconscious level.
I know reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re dealing with things that feel confusing, heavy, or even stigmatized. I’ve spent my career working in many corners of the mental health world—from individual and couples therapy to specialized work around sexual behavior and addiction, including involvement with the legal system and court settings. Because of this, I’m used to sitting with people in really tough situations, and I bring a steady, non-judgmental presence to whatever you’re going through.
I am a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over two decades of experience across a wide range of therapeutic settings, including family, adolescent, individual, group, adult, outpatient, residential, and day programs. I help clients enhance their quality of life by using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I received my bachelor's in psychology from Utah State University and went on to get my Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. I specialize in treating OCD and Anxiety Disorders. I have worked in various locations including an intensive outpatient (IOP), middle school and private practice. I also have experience working with the aging population and the forensic population working toward competency restoration.
I come to therapy with a background in education and theater, which has deeply shaped how I connect with people and understand the human experience. My work is rooted in helping individuals better define who they are, where they want to be, and what may be standing in the way of getting there.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on curiosity, honesty, and growth. Together, we’ll identify obstacles, explore patterns, and engage with challenges in a meaningful way until we find solutions that truly work for you. My goal is to provide a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Salt Lake City, UT
Searching for therapists in Salt Lake City starts with knowing what kind of support fits your needs. Therapists may help with concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, stress, or life transitions. As you compare Salt Lake therapists, look for someone whose listed specialties and approach match what you want to address. A therapist’s profile can show whether they use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, or acceptance and commitment therapy.
In Salt Lake City, your search may include therapists near Downtown, Sugar House, Holladay, or other nearby neighborhoods, along with Utah therapists who offer virtual appointments. Some people prefer an office that fits their commute or daily routine, while others choose virtual therapy for more scheduling options. Beyond specialty, consider appointment availability, whether the therapist is accepting new patients, session format, and whether they offer a free phone consultation. Reading bios before you book can help you understand a therapist’s communication style, experience, and what sessions may look like.
Therapy in Salt Lake City can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to lower your out-of-pocket session costs. Headway helps you find licensed therapists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, many of whom are accepting new patients, and who match your preferences for care, schedule, and format. You can enter your insurance details, see an estimated cost before booking, review therapist profiles, and book directly when you’re ready.
