I am a husband, a father of two adult children, and a corgi dad. I am not a true Mainer as I moved here about 4 years ago from Pennsylvania where I spent most of my life. But, I have adopted Maine as my own. I love the outdoors and spend as much time as I can in them.
As far as the more formal stuff, I spent a lot of time in school. My credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ursinus College, a Masters of Education in Counseling from Rutgers University, an Executive Masters of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from California Pacific University, a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Juris Doctorate in Law all from Widener University.
I have 20+ years management experience in behavioral health, managed care, academia and private practice settings. I have run my private practice for more than 30 years, have been a program administrator, corporate compliance/privacy officer, clinical director, program chairperson, and director of quality management during my career. I have taught at more than 20 colleges and universities. I have advised, supervised, trained, and taught hundreds of graduate students and professional counselors. I have also presented at many state, regional and national conferences and provided numerous trainings to social service and criminal justice professionals.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of nursing experience across behavioral health, trauma, critical care, geriatrics, and nursing leadership. Throughout my career, I have seen how deeply mental health affects every part of a person’s life, their relationships, work, sleep, confidence, physical health, and ability to feel like themselves.
I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for clients navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, mood changes, insomnia, stress, burnout, and life transitions.
My style is warm, empowering, holistic, and solution-oriented. I believe healing begins with feeling heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My goal is to help clients feel less stuck, reconnect with themselves, and move toward feeling whole again. Together, we will look beyond symptoms and explore the life experiences, stressors, sleep patterns, medical concerns, relationships, and personal goals that may be affecting your mental health.
I want clients to leave care feeling informed, hopeful, and equipped with a plan that helps them optimize what matters most and build a life they can truly enjoy.

My experience varies assisting many with different issues within individual, couples, and marital counseling. I also provide clinical supervision and I am a Board Certified Executive Coach. After decades in healthcare, including years in hospice and palliative care, I learned something that shapes everything about how I work: the most powerful thing I can offer is simply to be present. Not to fix, not to explain away, and not to pretend I fully understand what you are going through. But to stay with you in whatever you are carrying, without rushing, without judgment, for as long as it takes.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. My years in hospice prepared me to hold space for people in the most difficult moments of their lives, and that experience is what I bring to therapy now. Whether you are managing a chronic illness, living with chronic pain, carrying trauma, grieving a loss, or burning out from caregiving, you do not have to make it more manageable for the people around you. You just have to show up.
One small note: I have a chronic pain condition myself, so you may see me reposition during our sessions. I mention it upfront so you can focus on yourself rather than wondering.
I’m Dr. Carly Ellman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and sports social worker with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and athletes across a wide range of life transitions.
My therapy style is warm, honest, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to help you build clarity, confidence, and tools that support your wellbeing both inside and outside the therapy room.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, sport-related stress, or a desire for deeper self-understanding, you’ll find a safe, non-judgmental place to explore and grow.
My background includes clinical practice, college teaching, and working directly with youth, parents, and coaches to strengthen mental health, resilience, and relationships through evidence-based approaches.
I’ve also earned a Sports Social Work Certificate and serve on the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee Mental Health Registry, where I work with athletes navigating performance pressure, identity, anxiety, and stress.
I enjoy talking about context and how our individual differences shape our lives. Disability and Mental Health topics have been my focus throughout my clinical and research career. I hold a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision with a master's in clinical rehabilitation & mental health counseling. I have experience as a professor in higher education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, teaching courses across human services and working in student support roles. I have trained several master's level clinicians who received training from CACREP-accredited programs. I was born in OH, grew up in WV, and have spent much of my adult life in both PA and OH. I currently reside in NC! The sunshine and warm weather are great.
Hello! My name is Kimberly or you can call me Kim. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 8+ years of experience in counseling and therapy. I enjoy working with teens and young adults, as well as anyone who is open to making changes in their life. I am strengths-based and solution-focused.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Transformative Journey Counseling, LLC. I also earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University.
I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, and adjustment-related challenges. My work focuses on empowering clients to gain insight, build resilience, and find healthy ways to cope and grow through life’s transitions.
I have spent most of my professional life helping people manage stress, burnout, trauma, change, and the general emotional chaos that comes with being human. With a background spanning clinical counseling, higher education, leadership development, special education, and mental health advocacy, I bring both deep expertise and genuine relatability to the therapy process. I have presented nationally on topics like compassion fatigue, resilience, and trauma, but believe some of the best therapeutic work still happens in simple, honest conversations where people finally feel heard.
