First of all, I am NOT your typical psychotherapist.
I'm pretty casual. I wear jeans and the occasional t-shirt to the office. Makeup went out the window when Covid hit. I have a dry sense of humor and sarcasm is my second language.
I like to sprinkle "f*ck" into my everyday vocab like little bits of colorful confetti. Feel free to add to the fun.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Mental Health Therapist in Columbia, MO

You may be looking for help with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, or a life transition. As you compare Columbia therapists, look for someone whose listed specialties, therapy approach, and experience match what you want to focus on. Provider bios can help you see whether a therapist uses approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, or another style that fits your needs.
In a smaller city like Columbia, the right match may be nearby, or it may be easier to find through virtual therapy with a Missouri-licensed therapist. In-person care can be a good fit if you prefer a local office near Downtown, East Campus, or another part of Columbia. Virtual sessions may give you more choices for appointment times and therapist specialties. Before booking, review whether a therapist is accepting new patients, offers times that work with your schedule, and provides a free phone consultation. A therapist’s profile can also show how they describe their communication style and what to expect in sessions.
Therapy in Columbia can be a significant cost without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to lower your session costs and understand what you may pay before you book. Headway helps you search for therapists in Columbia, MO who are accepting new patients, compare virtual and in-person options, and enter your insurance details for an estimated out-of-pocket cost. You can review bios, check availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
