I use a four- fold approach to treating beyond traditional psychotherapy to help you on your journey. I have PhD in Clinical psychology, two master's degree (one in community counseling, one in community psychology). I also have a degree in Addictions and one in business management. Having worked every level of care from an inpatient hospital setting, residential long-term care, in a jail, a prison, out-patient levels for intensive three times per week to one time per week and taught in two universities. I am working my favorite level of care on an out-patient setting. Training has been in addictions, mental health, couples and family systems. I have other specialties with chronic pain and nutrition/bariatrics and obesity and available to provide medical and court evaluations with limited testing. I see children from 12 and up and adults/geriatrics.

I've been a therapist for over 25 years, helping people with anxiety, depression and addictions. I've worked in a variety of settings over the years and understand how challenging it is to make changes in life.

First let me say I went into therapy after a lot of my own problems in life and I wanted to understand why I struggled so much. Currently I specialize in relationship counseling, PTSD, anxiety, and grief/loss. Everyone's mind is shaped by their experiences, environment, personality, and a variety of other factors. I recently retired from the VA after 17 years of working with veterans and their struggles. There rest of the time I was in community care working with individuals and families. I understand that it can be hard to ask for help but the most resilient people I know have been the ones that want to keep discovering what is underneath the surface. It's not easy to figure it out yourself. That's why I do what I do! I love to help people unlock the mysteries in their heads. My name is Amanda Liter, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Indiana University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, PTSD, ADHD and assessment, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, suicidality and crisis intervention, and significant life stressors. I am a trauma-informed therapist who is EMDR trained and certified. I am trained in suicide prevention with ASIST and QPR as a trainer.

I also specialize in domestic violence, narcissistic abuse recovery, addiction, mental health (bipolar, depression, anxiety, ADHD), Dissociation and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), chronic illness, spiritual/religious abuse recovery.
