After serving as a Chief Nursing Officer, I chose to transition into psychiatric care because I wanted to work more directly with individuals and families. I recently completed my PMHNP training and bring experience supporting people across the lifespan, from children through older adults. My name is Glen Alan Ensinger. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I lived in Colorado for over 1 year and was licensed last March. I have been licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois since 2002. I have provided crisis counseling and domestic violence counseling for perpetrators and victims. I completed my master's degree at Western Illinois University which included a practicum and internship at White Oaks in Peoria, Illinois. This is a substance abuse program. I have worked at a school for children with behavioral problems and also have provided counseling and crisis services at a community mental health center. For approximately 10 years I was on clinical staff for the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois where I provided counseling services for clients in the HIV program. I worked over 8 years at the 9th Judicial Court in Illinois as a court services therapist. I have a private practice that includes working for programs that helped children either get adopted or return home from the foster care program (or help parents get the children returned to them). My primary work has been with families, couples and children. I use dialectical behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and general Rogerian therapy to help people live more successful lives.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades in the corporate world, most of it in consulting, helping people and organizations improve performance and well-being. I also built and ran a company of my own, so I understand firsthand the pressure, high stakes, and constant push to hold it all together that come with building something from the ground up.

And in my own relationships, I know what it takes to communicate honestly, navigate conflict, and stay connected — the same things I help my clients work through.

I work with individuals and couples of all ages on anxiety, depression, burnout, executive and career stress, life transitions, relationship issues, and communication skills. I’m deeply focused on the connection between physical and mental health — sleep, movement, nutrition, purpose, and connection aren’t side notes to me, they’re central to how I think about wellbeing.

I hold a BA in Psychology, a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and an MSW, but what matters most is how I show up: fully present, genuinely empathetic, and committed to being real with my clients — even when honesty is the harder thing to offer.
