I approach therapy in a collaborative and compassionate way, creating a safe space where clients can feel supported as they explore their inner world. I believe that each client is the expert of their own life, and my role is to guide, support, and provide tools to help you connect with your strengths and insights. My work is trauma-informed and integrates a variety of techniques, including internal family systems, somatic methods, inner child work, strengths-based narratives, CBT, experiential approaches, and clinical hypnosis.
When someone you love is struggling, or when life starts to feel heavier than you can carry on your own, asking for help can feel overwhelming. You do not have to navigate it alone. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing anxiety, behavioral and emotional challenges, life transitions, school related concerns, family conflict, and trauma. Together, we will build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change that helps you or your loved one feel more confident, connected, and supported.
I’m Emily, a licensed psychotherapist and Clinical Social Worker with a specialization in healthcare from Aurora University. I have extensive experience across various levels of care—including inpatient psychiatric settings, residential treatment, PHP/IOP, and community mental health—I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals facing co-occurring disorders, addiction, eating disorders, and trauma.
Through my work with complex cases, I have observed that many challenges are deeply rooted in trauma and systemic issues.
I grew up on the south side of Chicago. I am married and have two adult children. I have been a registered nurse for 30 years, primarily in women’s health and psychology and psychiatry nursing. I became a clinical mental health counselor 5 years ago, graduated from Bradley University.
I help children, teens, and adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and cultural or identity-related challenges so they can feel more confident, understood, and at peace in their daily lives. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply ready for something to change, therapy can be a place to make sense of what you’re experiencing, feel heard, and build a path forward that feels right for you.
Welcome!

I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress, and the effects of trauma so they can feel more balanced, confident, and in control of their lives. If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like the patterns in your life are no longer working, therapy can help you gain clarity, recognize your strengths, and create meaningful change. You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

I am committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and affirming environment where people from all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and life experiences feel respected and supported. My goal is to provide a safe place where you can be yourself, explore challenges openly, and discover your strengths. Together, we'll focus on meaningful growth, practical strategies, and helping you thrive on your own terms.
I believe people deserve to feel understood before they’re asked to change. My approach to therapy is direct and collaborative.
