I have been a small-town private practitioner in Idaho for many years doing lots of different kinds of therapies and evaluations. I believe I am able to connect with the patients and help them in ways they find meaningful.
Hi, I'm Brittney, and I'm excited to support you on your journey to better mental health! I'm board certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I primarily focus on OCD, anxiety, and depression. I am no longer accepting new ADHD clients. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where we can work together to help you thrive. I look forward to meeting you!
That saying, "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger" -- I think it should be "What doesn't kill me makes me suffer." So many people feel unheard, disconnected, tired, worthless, fearful, sad, anxious and forgettable. They need the skills to nurture their resilience, to discern their incredible value. There's a loneliness in struggling. But I'm here to help you heal yourself with a new, creative perspective and find resources you didn't know you possessed.
I am Stanley Okeyemi, the founder of Brighter Light Behavioral Health Services. I am currently licensed as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) in Texas, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Washington, North Carolina, Nebraska, Virginia and New York. I have been working in the mental health industry for 16 years, but licensed as a PMHNP for four years, with a vast amount of experience and affiliations with over 40 hospitals/clinics combined across the USA
It has been my privilege to provide therapy services to veterans and their families for the past 17 years, and I have been honored to gain a variety of evidence-based therapies to address the conditions of the individuals and families I have worked with over the years. I have a wealth of experience treating many conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions.
I believe that healing happens within a safe and collaborative relationship, and I take pride in being of service to others and feel honored to support individuals and their families as they work toward recovery, resilience, and improved well-being.
Finding a therapist who truly gets your life can feel like a long search. One who sees more than a diagnosis, who doesn't need you to explain yourself before you can get to work. If you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, that search often comes with an extra layer: the quiet work of figuring out whether this therapist is actually safe, or whether you'll spend your sessions educating them. With me, you won't have to do that work.
I'm a licensed therapist with more than 22 years of experience in mental health and addiction treatment. I've worked in community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, correctional settings, and private practice. I've sat with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives and know how to meet them there without flinching.
My primary focus is LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. That includes navigating identity, coming out at any stage of life, relationship dynamics unique to queer and same-sex partnerships, internalized stigma, minority stress, and everything that comes with living authentically in a world that doesn't always make that easy. I also work with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, substance use and dual diagnosis, men's issues, and stress and burnout.
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than a decade of experience in mental health care. I began my career as a Registered Nurse in 2013, and my work in mental health has shaped my deep commitment to providing compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. These experiences have taught me that every person’s story is unique, and effective treatment begins with truly listening and understanding the individual behind the diagnosis.
