I’ve spent years sitting with people at their lowest—through addiction, crisis, and the kind of pain that can make life feel unmanageable. That work taught me something I bring into every session now: nobody is “too much,” and no story is too messy. These days, I’m more focused on slower, steadier work. Whether you’re worn down by depression, gripping through stress, or finally ready to be honest about drinking or using, I’ll meet you where you are with steadiness, honesty, and compassion. You don’t need the right words yet; we’ll figure it out together.
If your child is struggling with big feelings, hard behaviors, or school-related stress, you have found a safe place. I have worked alongside kids, teens, and their families since
2005, creating a playful, welcoming space where they can finally feel understood. I draw from play therapy, AutPlay, and creative approaches tailored to your child's
personality and developmental stage. I also partner with caregivers, teachers, and other supports so your child is not doing this work alone. My goal is to help them
understand themselves better, build confidence, and feel more in control of their emotions and choices.
I'm Amy Wood, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker providing individual talk therapy and EMDR to adults via telehealth in Georgia and Florida. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Vermont and have spent over a decade in the mental health field, working across primary care, community mental health, crisis intervention, and private practice settings. My areas of focus include trauma-focused care, perinatal mood disorders, parenting challenges, and anxiety and depression. Along the way I've also supervised graduate-level social work interns, which keeps me grounded in best practices and continued learning in the field.
Sheena Rymer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), received a Master's Degree in Social Work from Valdosta State University in May 2014 and a clinical license in Social Work in September 2019. During that time, she interned and worked at Miller Counseling Services, Pruitt Nursing Home, Mountain Education Charter School, and Fannin County School System. She facilitated groups; provided care consultations and coordinated services for clients both admitted and discharged from the nursing home; and provided individual counseling services. Moreover, Sheena has over five years experience in crisis intervention. Sheena is an active member of School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA), Fannin Children's Fund (FCF), and Social Workers Action Group (SWAG).

Building a strong, trusting partnership with my patients is at the heart of my practice. I know that small steps can lead to big transformations, and I’m committed to walking alongside you on your journey to better mental health.

Find an expert who truly understands OCD
Headway helps you manage obsessive-compulsive disorder with expert-guided support — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Factors to Consider When Choosing an OCD Therapist in Savannah
Finding OCD therapists in Savannah starts with looking for the right training, not just the right location. OCD care may involve support for obsessions, compulsions, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, anxiety, and related stress. Exposure and response prevention, often called ERP, is a well-established therapy approach for OCD, and some therapists have more experience with it than others. As you compare options, look for therapists who list OCD, ERP, cognitive behavioral therapy, or related experience in their bios.
Savannah has a smaller local therapy market than larger Georgia cities, so virtual care can help expand your options while keeping care accessible. Some people prefer meeting in an office, while others choose virtual appointments for schedule flexibility or a wider range of therapists. For OCD care, it helps to look beyond a general mention of OCD and review whether a therapist describes specific ERP training, structured sessions, or experience with concerns similar to yours. You can also compare availability, whether a free phone consultation is offered, and how each therapist describes their approach.
Therapy in Savannah can be a significant investment without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated cost before you book. Headway helps you find therapists who match your needs and are accepting new patients, and you can check Headway to confirm which insurance plans are accepted for your specific therapist and location. You can review bios, compare availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
