K. Erica Hunkin, PhD, MSN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, is a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and a Master of Science in Marine Chemical Ecology from The University of Mississippi. Her passion for understanding the biological basis of behavior led her to pursue a PhD in Behavioral Neuroendocrinology at North Carolina State University. During her doctoral research, she focused on how hormones influence brain function and behavior, a natural extension of her lifelong curiosity about human behavior. She later transitioned into nursing, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from Johns Hopkins University. Hi! My name is Elana, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia, I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I have experience working with people of all ages in multiple different settings. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Whether you’re coping with overwhelming stress, adjusting to a major life change, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I offer a safe and nonjudgmental space for healing and growth. Together, we’ll work toward greater balance, confidence, and well-being.
I’ve spent years sitting with people at their lowest—through addiction, crisis, and the kind of pain that can make life feel unmanageable. That work taught me something I bring into every session now: nobody is “too much,” and no story is too messy. These days, I’m more focused on slower, steadier work. Whether you’re worn down by depression, gripping through stress, or finally ready to be honest about drinking or using, I’ll meet you where you are with steadiness, honesty, and compassion. You don’t need the right words yet; we’ll figure it out together.
I'm glad you're here. My name is Saúl.
I’m a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner who provides compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported without judgment.
With a background in both psychiatric and family medicine, I take a whole-person approach—considering both your mental and physical health when developing your treatment plan. My goal is to help you feel like yourself again.
