I'm a therapist in private practice based in Florida, working with clients via telehealth from the comfort of my home - golden retrievers included. I've been in the mental health field since 2011, starting with residential treatment for women navigating addiction and dual diagnoses, then outpatient, and now private practice. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, life transitions, and the kind of stress that piles up when everything seems to be happening at once - and I bring warmth, humor, and a whole lot of genuine care to every session.

Hi, I’m Iris, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, mood changes, attention difficulties, or stress that’s making daily life harder than it should be.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on the whole person. I believe mental health care should go beyond simply treating symptoms. Together, we’ll explore the factors that may be affecting how you feel—from life stressors and sleep to hormonal changes and metabolic health—and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.

In addition to psychiatric medication management, I also incorporate hormone-informed mental health care and medical weight management, recognizing how closely emotional well-being, hormones, and physical health are connected.

I am the founder of Nova Counseling Services, I have Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Barry University. As a licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida, Pilar’s career began in child welfare and family reunification with the Department of Children and Families. With a focus on dual diagnosis and substance use treatment, she is a Certified Addiction Professional and a qualified supervisor for social work interns.
