I have more than 30 years of experience in the behavioral health field and have been in private practice since 2003. I work with adults, older adults, adolescents, individuals, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, grief, stress, relationship challenges, ADHD, anger, impulse control, substance use concerns, cultural or ethnic issues, and major life transitions. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Cuba in 1982 and later completed my Master’s degree at Florida International University in 1998. My background has shaped a warm, culturally sensitive, and practical approach to therapy.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult at first. My goal is to help clients feel safe, respected, and supported as they take that courageous first step toward feeling better and becoming a healthier version of themselves.

As a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I believe in prioritizing mental health for all persons as s key to happiness and stability. With over 25 years of experience as an addiction specialist, and a graduate of Nova Southeastern University specializing in Child and Youth Studies, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among his areas of expertise are substance and alcohol abuse, internet gambling, relationship problems, parenting and family issues.

He is a Licensed Psychotherapist and APA Board Certified in Professional Counseling; has a doctorate in Child and Youth Studies from Nova Southeastern University ’s Fischler Graduate School of Education and Human Services and a master’s in Mental Health Counseling; a specialist in the field of addictions, is certified in Addictions Counseling from the University of Miami; is a Certified Addictions Professional (C.A.P.) since 1994 and a Fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association. He is a member of the American Counseling Association.
