Hi there! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). My approach to psychotherapy is based in collaboration with clients. My goal is to assist you in identifying the underlying causes of your current, or long term, distress and/or to manage current symptoms. I firmly believe that each of us possesses an inherent potential for healing & growth.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a wide variety of treatment settings - ranging from highly acute residential to outpatient. These experiences have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the nuances of addiction, eating disorders and co-occurring disorders.

I have a heart for walking with people who are looking for someone to listen and care about their unique circumstances. I work with both couples and individuals; some specializations include marital counseling, grief, addiction, anxiety, depression, spiritual/existential discernment, trauma, suicidal ideation, family dysfunction, and career counseling.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with 8 years of experience and I also hold a Certified Master's Level Addiction Professional ( MCAP). I have worked in a wide variety of settings with a focus on individual counseling. My specialties include anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, domestic violence, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic abuse, and ADHD.

I truly believe I was born to help others, and caring for people has been a passion throughout my adult life. With more than 20 years of experience as a licensed counselor, I've had the opportunity to support people through anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship concerns, mood disorders, and many of life's difficult transitions.

My experience has taken me across a variety of settings and populations, including more than 10 years working with teens. I understand that reaching out for support isn't always easy, and I want you to know that you deserve a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. No matter what brings you to therapy, my goal is to meet you with compassion and without judgment as we work together toward greater clarity, healing, and a healthier way forward.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and my main focus is helping minors and adults address problematic sexual behaviors, men’s issues, and the unique experiences of those who identify as LGBTQ+.

I also work with couples who are navigating the challenges of polyamory and exploring healthy relationship dynamics.

I offer a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space for clients to explore challenges related to substance use, codependency, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I am Ramon Recio, a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with more than thirty years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s most difficult chapters. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and completed doctoral coursework in Counselor Education and Supervision. My career has spanned community mental health centers, hospital systems, and private practice in both New York City and the greater Tampa Bay area, including my current work as a Behavioral Health Psychotherapist at BayCare Behavioral Health, St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Over the years I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients: adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions; couples and families seeking to repair and strengthen their relationships; individuals in recovery from substance use; veterans; and people from culturally diverse backgrounds, including children with developmental challenges and their families. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and I welcome clients who prefer to be served in either language.

Outside of credentials and titles, what I most want you to know is this: I am warm, energetic, and genuinely curious about the people I work with. I believe each person carries strengths that are often hidden beneath what they came to therapy to address, and a meaningful part of our work together will be uncovering and using those strengths. I also recognize that for many clients, spirituality, faith, or a personal sense of meaning is an important part of their lives. I am respectful of every client’s belief system and integrate that dimension only when, and how, you want it included.

I regularly work with individuals facing a variety of life's diverse challenges including anxiety/ panic, family-of-origin concerns, depression, maternal mental health, transition to parenthood, trauma, grief/ loss, sexual issues, and career related concerns. I also have a specialization in sex and relationship therapy. Please note, I do not provide couple or family therapy services on insurance as these forms of therapy are not recognized by insurances. If you'd like couple or family services, I provide out of network services and can also provide a sliding scale based on your income/ genuine financial need.

My clients are often seeking a combination of clarity, coping skills, and in general -- more ease and happiness in their daily life. I also have a unique specialization in "relationship therapy for one" where we unpack what might be keeping you stuck or unhappy when it comes to your overall relationship health/ satisfaction.

I have been a licensed therapist for over a decade and received my training at state of the art educational institutes including Syracuse University and other hospital and outpatient centers across NY and Manhattan. I have also sought out ongoing participation in professional clinical consultation groups with some of the most influential therapists and thought leaders of our time. These varied and diverse professional training experiences enable me to provide the best possible care to each client I serve. In addition, I also provide training and mentorship for new therapists looking to specialize in sex and relationship health.
