I believe every patient is unique and deserves individualized care. I have a passion for instilling hope in the patients I care for. I place a strong emphasis on actively listening and collaborating with each patient on their goals of treatment.
I am dual board certified Nurse Practitioner. I specialized in management of depression, anxiety, panic disorders, ADHD and addiction treatment.
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in couples therapy, trauma, and substance use recovery with a twist. Clients call me their "hippie therapist" because I bring a decade of holistic training, yoga, meditation, Reiki, and mindfulness into my clinical work. I've spent my career in addiction and behavioral health, including leadership roles at Mountainside Treatment Center. I especially love working with high-performing professionals, healthcare providers, athletes, and military members who spend their lives caring for others and are finally ready to receive care themselves.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Connecticut with 11 years of experience helping people work through depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and difficult family dynamics. I've had the privilege of supporting people across every stage of life, and that experience has shaped the way I practice today—warm, direct, collaborative, and culturally affirming.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in the same patterns, you don't have to figure it out alone. Together, we'll make sense of what's been weighing you down, uncover what's keeping you stuck, and build practical, lasting change. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen, challenged with compassion, and supported through the hard conversations—not judged or rushed. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move toward a life that feels more connected and authentic.
I am a licensed professional counselor, and I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to share and process intense emotions and painful thoughts. Together we focus on reconnecting with your worth and value so you can learn how to truly care for and love yourself. With someone who will listen closely and provide supportive feedback, you can begin to connect with your healthiest self, build boundaries, and practice real self care and protective factors in daily life.
I began my career working with children and quickly expanded my expertise to include adults and couples. Throughout my 26 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have seen the incredible power of the human spirit to overcome trauma and unexpected life struggles. Watching my clients transition from "surviving" to "thriving" remains the most inspiring part of my work.
There was a time when I felt trapped by anxiety, depression, and overwhelm. I spent years feeling like I was constantly reacting to the world around me—easily overwhelmed, shutting down, and unsure how to move forward. I was living in a hypervigiliant state - always on edge, feeling unsafe in relationships and in my aloneness. This was also followed with depressive states followed by shame and guilt. Working with a Practitioner in Somatic Experiencing has transformed my emotional well being by helping my brain and body recognize safety and reducing my sensitivity to unpleasant sensations and arousal. I now feel more in control, I welcome unpleasant bodily sensations when they show up, and feel more safe in my body.
My name is Jackson and I am a transgender man working as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Connecticut. I specialize in working with the LGBT+ community and those with complex trauma. Other topics relevant to my experience include crisis/suicidality, HIV, homelessness, substance use/addiction, harm reduction, and neurodivergence.
I also offer consultation sessions for mental health letters of support for gender affirming care (hormone therapy, surgery, hair removal, etc). I use WPATH standards of care to assess your situation and will provide a letter of support and/or help you to create a plan for further support if we identify any concerns. Keep in mind different doctors/insurances/states have differing laws regarding these letters and I may need to do research prior to writing your letter to ensure we do so correctly.
Hello! My name is Samantha Vamosy and I am so happy you are interested in working together. I know starting a therapy process whether you have before or this is your first time can be scary and uncomfortable. I hope we can work through this time together making this journey as helpful and special as possible. My passions have always aligned with helping others and listening in a compassionate, non-judgmental, and curious way. I find real change occurs when a person can fully explore their life in a holistic way. Whether it is current mental health symptoms or past traumas holistic healing is possible for everyone. I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Fairfield University and achieved my LPC after completing 3000 hours in an outpatient clinic for substance abuse.
I have been working in healthcare since 2007, working as a certified nursing assistant taking care of elderly patients in long term care facilities and home care.
