Dr. Paul Okoronkwo is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 5 years of experience in treating adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, ADHD, insomnia, and mood disorders. He has worked in multiple mental health hospitals and healthcare facilities since 2015. He received his master's and doctoral degrees from Walden University.
My therapeutic approach is anchored in trauma informed, creative and mind-body practices, ensuring that the people with whom I work receive high quality care that addresses their concerns at the heart, as this is where we see real, transformational change. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, (CCTP-II) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).
I specialize in supporting women navigating complex experiences that often go misunderstood. This includes women who have experienced harm within spiritual or religious communities—whether that's spiritual abuse, religious trauma, or the complicated grief of leaving a faith tradition. I also work with women managing anxiety, depression, and interpersonal trauma.
If you've felt silenced, questioned your own reality, or struggled to trust yourself after difficult experiences, you're not alone. My practice is a place where your story matters, your feelings are valid, and healing is possible.
It is actually difficult to say what my "ideal client" would be- an individual who is willing to look at the hard and scary stuff- face it- grow from it- put it beside them and no longer allow it to be what they see the world through. They desire to increase their self-awareness and make changes based on their increased self-awareness- thus finding more comfort in their own skin.
I am a licensed mental health counselor in Washington with over 15 years of experience in counseling, holistic health coaching, and empowering others to live to their full potential. I am originally from Oregon and attended college in San Diego. My experiences have allowed me to work with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings and roles to include traditional in-office therapy, teletherapy, educational institutions, as well as the honor of being welcomed into clients' homes.
I provide a safe, supportive space for individuals. We negotiate together how to optimize your experience of living life, your relationships, your work, and we continue to build on that. I believe that we all have the capacity to heal and build the life that we want to live.
I also train and supervise associate level counselors in the states of Washington and Louisiana.
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and have provided therapy to individuals and families since 2018. Currently, I work with women aged 18-60 who need support with ADHD, trauma, sleep issues, anxiety, struggling with change, or a growing sense of disconnection.
Thank you for visiting my profile, I hope to be able to guide you along your mental health journey. For over ten years, I’ve specialized in the treatment of anxiety and depression, especially in the context of life transitions. I have an expertise in helping people who feel stuck and unhappy gain confidence, advance in their careers, and form healthy interpersonal relationships.
