I specialize in the treatment of adult women who have ADHD.

Women and girls are shamed, gaslit and neglected by many aspects of the medical system. The ability required to recognize and adequately treat ADHD in women requires a specialized knowledge of the disorder, but many healthcare providers are still missing the mark — and the client ends up suffering needlessly.

I am actively working to help women with ADHD learn about, and master, their symptoms using an individualized approach that creates new possibilities for thriving with ADHD, and paves the path toward recovery from the lifetime of shame caused by this misunderstood condition.

I work with people who are female-identifying or nonbinary, ages 18 and up, and I have special interest in Women’s Issues. I am also neurodivergent-affirming, disability-affirming, and proudly Queer-Allied.

ADHD has been, is, and will be present for the lifetime of the person. It does not have a “cure,” but it can effectively be treated. One does not “grow out of it,” despite what you may have been told. One cannot simply ignore it or choose to pretend it’s not real. But we can educate ourselves about it, learn how to work with it and thrive.

Bottom line, ADHD is often a diagnosis that does not get a lot of attention (hah!). People struggle from the anxiety and depression that results from the unmanaged symptoms of ADHD, and that’s what typically brings them to seek out therapy or medication. Therapy aims to alleviate that depression and anxiety with strong research-based methods, but you still have unchecked and unaddressed ADHD. If we don’t examine specifically how your particular version of ADHD shows up, it can end up being overlooked and ignored, but ignoring something doesn’t mean it’s gone.

I’m an LCSW, and my practice name, Life Shift Happens, comes from a truth I see every single day: people don’t come to therapy because they’re broken. They come because life stopped unfolding the way they expected, and they feel entirely stuck. A lot of the humans I work with are incredibly thoughtful and trying so hard. They usually don't lack insight; they’ve read the coping skills and talked things through with friends. Yet, they still find themselves procrastinating, shutting down, or feeling completely frozen by past stuff. When that happens, change isn’t a matter of forcing more willpower. It requires slowing down to look at the patterns and defense mechanisms we build to protect ourselves when life gets heavy.

My style is collaborative, deeply conversational, and entirely human. I’m not here to judge, lecture, or pretend I have all the answers. Instead, I’m active in our sessions through asking questions, noticing patterns, and gently pushing back when I see you getting in your own way. We will work on the practical things like boundaries, follow-through, and managing emotions, while sitting with the messy overthinking, panic, burnout, or feeling checked out underneath it all. Therapy with me is a relationship where we make sense of the sudden crises and quiet paralyses that come with life shifts. The goal isn’t a perfect, flawless life, but rather a therapeutic space where you can figure out what changed, sprinkle in compassion, and learn how to move forward in a way that feels genuinely your own.

I work with teens and adults who are ready to better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, burnout, parenting and family challenges, relationship concerns, grief, or major life transitions. Others may not have the words to describe what they're feeling. They simply know something needs to change and are looking for support, practical tools, and a fresh perspective.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy to teens and adults across North Carolina. I earned my bachelor's degree in social work from North Carolina Central University and my master's degree in social work from East Carolina University. For nearly a decade, I've had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a variety of mental health settings, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges.

Most importantly, I want you to know that you don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you're willing to show up, we'll work together to help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change.

Find an expert who truly understands ADHD

Headway helps you stay on track with expert-guided support for ADHD — from finding the right therapist or psychiatrist, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.

Factors to Consider When Choosing a Therapist in Greensboro

Finding the right provider for ADHD in Greensboro starts with understanding what kind of care you need. A therapist with ADHD experience can help with behavioral strategies, time management, and emotional regulation through approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). A psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner can evaluate symptoms and manage medication. Some people benefit from working with both.

With providers spread across Greensboro and the broader Triad area, narrowing your options can take time. Consider what matters most — whether that's a provider who works with adults or children, someone who offers virtual appointments, or a specific therapeutic approach. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you understand their style and decide if they're a good match.

ADHD therapy in Greensboro can be expensive without coverage, but using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before you book. Many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find an ADHD provider who fits your needs and your budget.
